Today's video is 50 things I no longer own or buy! I've been living a more minimalist lifestyle for 5 years and little by little I've changed my shopping habits for the better. It's so peaceful to live in a home without all 50 of these things (I'm sure if I thought about it long enough I could come up with more!) Not to mention, it's freeing to have MONEY just in case instead of STUFF. Buying less means more contentment, peace and freedom. How is your life better with less? What kinds of stuff do you not buy?

The jumper cable I mentioned but forgot to share during the video🤪: amzn.to/2Ps5l70

Thanks so much for watching! These are just the things we are happier without and that work for us! What are some things you no longer buy or own as a minimalist? ✨

Shaving cream was one of my biggest things I quit buying a long time ago, it's such a gimmick! Shaving with a bar of soap works just fine for me 😊
  • Me, “oh yeah people buy these things normally!” My mom was a minimalist my whole life and I never knew it, I feel like it had made me a more content adult.

I throw my journals away every New Years. I didn’t mean to turn it into a thing, I just never wanted to carry the past with me into the new year. I wrote to get my thoughts out of my head but then I want to move on, not continue to look back.

We don’t have a tv either and I love it. Some people think we are really weird but I find it so peaceful without one
  • Hi...I am from Malaysia...When my husband and I lost mostly everything during the covid pandemic, we had to decide how start again...we decided to only buy or bring into our life what we need....your videos helped me so much. Looking back, it made me realise we actually don't need many things to make our home and day to day living more fullfilling and happy. Thank you.
  • As for buying journals, notebooks, scrapbooks or sketchbooks, I started making my own. It's SO much fun and REALLY easy, yet it takes a little time so you think more about it if you REALLY need one, finding the time to make it will give it all so much more value. Just get your favorite paper, and some hard fabric or old leather. Cut the fabric to size, fold about 50 papers dubble, make stacks of 10 papers per bundle and sew them in. It's really awesome, fun and unique.

When I walked the camino in Spain I lived with just a backpack and whatever I could carry. Those were some of the best days of my life and made me realize how little stuff I really actually need. Actually some of the things I believed were “essential” I left along the way because they weren’t worth the weight.

I think your journals may be something your children would cherish. Maybe save a few for your children so they have lovely insights into your life when they were growing up. That is priceless IMHO 🌹just sharing my thoughts 😃

Haha YES someone else who thinks body wash is a scam! I've been using bar soap and shampoo for many years and will never go back to the liquid version.

I could never get rid of my journals! What’s really the point of writing in them, only to toss them away? My father passed away recently, and now I find it so comforting to go back and read entries of times that I spent with him. I also cherish entries where my kids did or said something funny. It’s the little bits that usually doesn’t stand out in your memories, but when you read about them, it immediately brings back nostalgia and makes you go, “oh yeah, I totally forgot about that!”
  • Loved this! Definitely need to work on quite a few of those that you mentioned... Very inspiring!!

I seriously love your videos! I can relate to all of these. 👍🏼

    1. Shampoo gallon = body wash, shampoo, hand soap, dish soap, bug repellent, face wash, and house cleaning. 2. Baking soda big box = laundry, toothpaste, house cleaning. 3. Water. I love ❤️ your channel!!
  • I WISH my husband would be on board with getting rid of our tvs. He would watch tv all day and the same movies on repeat lol and I find it such a waste of time. Your videos are so eye opening and I long to live a minimalist slow lifestyle with my family and I’m praying it will happen.

I live in Michigan, I've never heard of snow chains LOL. Decluttering is a great feeling 😊
