Blaidd is cool af love his design and how human he seems but he’s actually a BEAST! in dialogue he literally called us “Mate” I’m like of yeah good choice of voice actor for sure

The description of Blaidd's armor says this: Well-worn black gauntlets of the man-wolf Blaidd. Blaidd, who served as Ranni's shadow, was a loyal ally who would defy destiny itself if it would have him turn upon his Lady. When you talk to Iji after putting Blaidd down, he essentially says he underestimated Blaidd's determination to resist the curse that would turn him against Ranni. My interpretation of the dead assassins outside of Ranni's rise is they came to assassinate Ranni, and Blaidd held on to the bit of his humanity that drove him to protect her; thus slaying the assailants. I almost wonder if Blaidd could have broken free of the madness of his own accord had the player not intervened with him in his mad-stricken state. Though of course, there's no way in-game to save him.

Blaidd was a total badass. Even with mere drops of his sanity left, he STILL remained loyal to Ranni. I think it's interesting they made Blaidd a half wolf. Wolves, and dogs alike, are extremely loyal creatures. I think that's a very clever way of reflecting Blaidd's undying loyalty to Ranni, as a dog is undyingly loyal to their owners

A fight that broke my heart personally. As soon as I saw Blaidd on his knees, his sword in hand and surrounded by corpses, I knew something was wrong. Ranni's quest is for me one of the best in the game and she and Blaidd are among my favorite characters from this universe. Their story is both touching, beautiful and sad. Two childhood friends, almost like brother and sister, but both linked by a terrible fatality, that of a demigoddess and her shadow. And despite his duty and the madness that was eating away at him little by little, Blaidd remained faithful to his lady, until the end. I personally chose to marry with Ranni and begin the Age of the Stars, so that the sacrifices of Blaidd and Iji were not in vain.

The reason why Blaidd went crazy is because Blaidd is a shadow beast, the same as Godfrey's Serosh and Marika's Maliketh. The shadow beasts are created by the Two Fingers to guide and protect the gods and demi-gods, of which Ranni is an empyrean. The problem is, Ranni has betrayed the two fingers, which is causing a split in Blaidd, who is ever loyal to Ranni but still a potential puppet to the Two Fingers. Iji is aware of this, and locks Blaidd in a gaol, trying to free Ranni from him. Iji, as well, is a possible puppet, and thus wears a mirror helm to block out the influence of the Greater Will. When Rannis betrayal was fully recognized by the player acquiring the finger-slaying blade, the Two Fingers sent an assassin, disguised as a Blaidd lookalike named the Baleful Shadow, to kill Ranni, which we dispose of. Meanwhile, Ranni accomplishes her mission. She kills a Two Finger, possibly the very last one in the actual world, and ascends to be one with the stars that design her fate. Because of her ascension, Blaidd, still torn between the two, loses his mind. It isn't clear whether the black knife assassins at Rannis tower attacked him and caused his mental break, or whether he brought them with him under the control of the Two Fingers and managed to come to his senses long enough to turn on them. What is known, though, is that shadow beasts are part of their master, so with Blaidds master ascending rather than outright dying, this may have caused his sanity break. Iji is also attacked and killed by Black Knife Assassins. The assassins are all Numen women; the same race as Marika. Ranni indirectly caused all of the events surrounding the Black Knives and the entire war, but that's a comment for another video.

Guts reference in blaidd and then maybe a casca reference in ranni because shes of her being a doll and the little doll version of her you find. just like in cascas dreams near the end of berserk

The wolf man is the most chill npc in the game, I really don't like the idea of him going mad for no reason. Apparently he aggros because "He's a curse set upon Ranni by the two fingers" which doesn't make sense, he's a childhood vassal/retainer. Would've appreciated some dialogue as to why on earth he invades in the eternal city

his moveset is beautiful, that upward slash while he is lifting his sword with one hand makes me melt.

Fuck. I wish we could save Blaidd.

When i first met him i thought "hmmm black armor...,half-wolf... this dude is going to be an edgy asshole" but then i heard him speaking and i loved him as much as i did with siegmeyer.

Such a tragic end. If it's only possible that Miquella's needle could save him.

I summoned a Mimic Tear +10 for this (and pretty much every fight that I’ve been in after I got it). Let’s just say that being hit by four katanas at the same time doesn’t do the target any favors.

okay Blaidd has to be a Guts reference, right? because when u look at him in the top of that ruin he has like a Guts pose, am i right?
