I still get choked up seeing videos with Kobe in them. I'm 53 and i feel like a kid who lost their favorite uncle. RIP Kobe, Gigi, and all who lost their lives in that helicopter crash. 😇
  • MJ speaking at Kobes funeral is and will forever be one of the most heartwrenching moments of my life! Can‘t express the gratitude I feel for being able to witness their careers

They can debate all they want. But Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant are the best to ever lace them up reality.
  • @artsilva
MJ knew that statement would light a fire under Kobe, and he was right. These two knew each other like they were from the same nest and in the end it was nothing but respect and brotherly love between them. That memorial speech said it all. RIP Kobe.

It STILL hard to believe Kobe is gone 💔😢

Kobe is that one dude whose name is what we yelled in the yesteryears when trying to make a shot from the court or the trash can. The day he passed felt like a relative had passed away. Thank you for your passion, determination and influence. Mamba mentality is something I had as a principle ever since it became a thing. Thank you for everything and may your rest in peace.

The kind words, that Michael Jordan spoke of Kobe Bryant, brought tears to my eyes.

We are all so lucky to have watched the two greatest pure basketball players of all time. RIP Kobe. We miss you and thank you for the memories.

Kobe's 3pointers hit different. As if they're supposed to go in no matter what! "Legends will never die"

“Rest in peace, little brother.” Shit that messed me up. I’m at work and hits me with that.

Kobe’s passing really affects me even today, although I nvr met him I have so much admiration, it was an honor to live in the same lifetime, RIP KB8 (KB24)
  • I was not born yet and to young to see the Michael Jordan bulls era but I was definitely around when Kobe came on the scene 2000 and up. Mom took me to a lakers game and wizards game. Seen Kobe and Shaq play together and MJ play. Best memories I’ll never forget. Kobe embodied MJ to the fullest from every move and with his own style with it. This was definitely a torch being passed down to kobe moment. And Kobe held his own from then on and mastered it to the end. Kobe will always be the greatest player in my eyes to touch the rock after MJ left the scene. We still had great players in the early 2000s but Kobe was just a different breed and cut from a different cloth. LonglivetheMamba

Jordan only said that to push the kid harder. That's what family is about. You tell them things they don't like to hear, you say things to encourage them to grow. What legendary big brother Jordan was. I'm sure They'll meet again some day. RIP Kobe Bean Bryant.
  • Amazing story. Loved the eulogy at the very end. Much respect to Michael and Kobe. It wasn't really about basketball. It was about love and respect. We need more of that in this world.

Every time I watch Jordan’s tribute to Kobe, I am brought to tears! This time was no different! Gone but never forgotten!🙏🏾🕊️🏀
  • @ronj9091
Legends like them will never die. They will talked about like old folklore stories until the end of humanity. RIP Mamba 8/24💜💛🙏🏾
  • @LtNduati
Yup... I still cried just a little bit at the end there...
  • Wow how have I never heard that line before ? "Phil has a weapon over there that can combat me " wow what an underrated off radar line." Even things out respectively"... and there it is the Ultimate Respect

Leading towards the '98 All Star game, MJ in a sense knew already who will be his heir apparent. He talked about the kid "Kobe" who's gonna 1-on-1 with anybody. During the game, Kobe asked technical questions to MJ and he answered him directly. MJ even invited Kobe to give him a call anytime he has questions. This footage is really nice. The literal passing of the torch from one apex assassin to another.
