Their style’s unique, their energy’s infectious, and their talent’s undeniable. Get ready to fall in love with Lake Street Dive just like we did when they stopped by to play two songs (“Godawful Things” and “Mistakes”) from their latest LP, “Side Pony.” Featuring Rachael Price (lead vocals), Mike “McDuck” Olson (guitar, trumpet, vocals), Bridget Kearney (upright bass, vocals), and Mike Calabrese (drums, vocals). Recorded live at Bose studios, “Better Sound Sessions” features our favorite artists playing music that sounds and feels the way you know music should.

I bought the bose sound bar when I hear this song at best buy. This is the most expensive song I ever heard. :)

Heard this on a Bose sound bar demo at Best Buy and I literally came from the other side of the store to find out who was singing. She sounds amazing
  • I work at best buy and I hear this like a 100 times a day and somehow I still love it! They killll the harmonies

How is this band not ruling the whole world??? They are absolutely exceptional in harmonies and show-stopping simple beauty. They inspire me to look for the good in this world.

The bass playing is just phenomenal, while doing backup vocals too

I thought the original studio version was outstanding, but this version totally blows it away. The sound is spectacular and both the trumpet and bass exceed all expectations. Incredible musicianship.

As a Best Buy employee, I rarely heard this song in the middle of the day. But every day my co-worker in the Home Theater section would play it on a sound bar when he was leaving after his shift. It was a sort of ritual. It's been a month since he's left and when we do the whole store thinks back to that time. I have a feeling years later if I have the idea of hearing this again I will definitely get emotional over these great times. Music has always been the greatest textbook for me.

Before the pandemic I would literally start my bartending shift in South Padre Island as a bartender at Coconut Jack's with this song to set MY tone and it was never NOT a hit. Speaking musically, this song is SO perfect! The arrangement, musicians, Rachel's angelic voice, the delivery, fkn EVERYTHING about this song is brings chills!
  • That first bass note. Letting it sort of rattle like she does. She chose to play it that way, a decision was made. To me, it conveys so much emotion, or attitude. It snarls.

Good lord this sounds good. The reverb on Rachael, the kick and snare, that bass tone; just wow.
  • @xDPx-zh7vr
When musicians jive like this there's nothing sweeter. Everyone in perfect synchronicity with the other. Chills everytime.

In a world of egotistical show offs this band is just pure talent
  • I can't believe I've never heard this band before. Awesome. Can't stop listening.
  • @torinoherrera
In any setting, Rachael Price has a very powerful voice.

I just came across this band while listening to YouTube at work a couple of weeks ago. My God!!!! How have I gone this long without hearing about them??? I have been listening non-stop since. I can't get enough. The musicianship, the harmonies, the vocals, and that bass playing!!! I can't wait until their next tour. I will be going to the closest show.
