Sony shot themselves in the foot with PSVR2 when none of the games were backwards compatible. Screwed everyone with PSVR1

I got mine in April, having a blast with it. Playing GT7, Star Wars and Wingman is a blast. Can't wait for Metro and Aliens to come out for it.

If they had let me play all of my PSVR1 games on it, I wouldve gotten a PSVR2.

Not making entire PSV1 catalog available on day for PSVR2 was crazy. Also not having the ability to buy replacement VR controls was another big sign that this was dead on arrival.

Infamous, Killzone, Socom, Resistance and the abandonment of the PS Vita are the reasons I no longer trust Sony edit: let’s not forget that outrageous price increase for online

PSVR2 $549.99 More than the damn ps5 system and such a waste of money 😢

When the PS5 was about to launch, the rumor was that it would run EVERY Playstation system on it. I would be glad to be wrong on this, but I don’t expect them to pull off PS3 emulation on the PS5. Ever.

If Sony doesn't get huge reaction on a product within the beginning of its launch - it abandons it shortly thereafter. Imagine if Nintendo did this with the 3DS. If they would bring must buy software to the VR2 - perhaps people would want to buy one?

They never recovered from the missing backwards compatibility on PSVR2. Going back and playing that library in a more comfortable experience was most of what I was looking forward to. Now I await the deep discounting to clear out those warehouses, which are probably still quite full, given that I have never run into a used PSVR 2 in the wild at stores I visit

They should have reduced the price to at most $400 or try to make it backwards compatible with the PSVR. I wanted to get it since I have the PSVR but the price was too high and there wasn’t anything mind blowing with the old PSVR games that merited the purchase of PSVR 2.
  • I have a PSVR2. I love it. Haven’t played it in forever. Reason being, everything you said in the video. Some indie games are great. What The Bat, Job Simulator, Star Wars VR. Yet, all I do is envy the PSVR 1 games and no backwards compatibility. I want to play them on VR2. I will hang on to it because I believe one day it will happen. If people cry out enough I believe it will.

The biggest problem with Sony peripherals whether it’s their handhelds or VR headsets is they don’t recieve the same level of support from Sony as their home console does. Unlike Nintendo which would spread pretty evenly their most popular IPs across both their handhelds and home console in order to drive demand.

Have my psvr2 a few months now and having a blast. Yeah it sucks you can't play most psvr1 games on it and that Sony isn't making more games for it. But i love playing it. Games like pavlov, legendary tales, call of the mountain, no man's sky and more. And now with the option to play on pc with steamvr support i think it's going to be great. But i want to see it first before i can get really excited for it.

There can be no "NATIVE PS3" on PS5... You can not run PS3 binaries without to put a CELL on the PS5. So is emulation or emulation. Maybe they just say "native" to say is not cloud/streaming. They also say "backward compatibility", again, misleading. If you can not put a PS3 disc on the PS5 and play it, then IT IS NOT backward compatibility.
  • @AnthonyDark
I still plan on buying a PSVR2. There are some good games for it and now it can be used for PC as well it makes it a little better.
  • @ArtwithErrol
I didn’t get the PSVR2 because of the price and it wasn’t backwards compatible. I had PSVR for PS4 and had some cool games, and I’m not updating at that crazy price point to start over with games.
