In its every star, stripe, wave and color, the American flag calls out to us in chapter and verse, reminding us of who we are and what we’ve fought for — what some of us have even died for.

In the stripes we see rays of light from above, and in every star we see our divine aspirations. But it is only in the primary colors of the flag that we see our country’s great themes laid bare:

Hardiness and valor in the red.
Purity and innocence in the white.
Vigilance, perseverance, and justice in the blue.
