In December, 1971, Muhammad Ali visited Switzerland to fight the West German boxer, Jürgen Blin. He arrived ten days early and during this time a camera crew followed him around at press conferences, autograph-signing appearances and training sessions. He is also seen with his children and discussing religion with a friend. Finally the film covers the fight itself. The result is an informal portrait of the boxer and one that shows the different sides of his dynamic personality. -Worldcat

Ali carried himself so well, man, despite all the issues he had to deal with. So talented and driven yet so calm and patient out of the ring. Amazing human being, cannot be replaced.
  • Not just a great boxer, he was a man with integrity and courage. He spoke the truth about racial and social issues and stood firmly for what he believed. He's not just a great black American, he's a great worldwide figure, a true legend 🥊🥊

I grew up as a youngster in the 70's watching this mans fights. I was only 8 when I saw the second Frazier fight. He was my dads , uncles and my hero. People dont realise just how huge a celebrity he was at the time of this video. Honesty he was probably the most famous man in the world. He was not formally educated, but far more intelligent than he let on, but also far more naive too...I hope his soul is resting in peace...
  • Muhammad Ali left us with so much footage and I'm thankful for it...

I'm from hamburg and Jurgen Blin several times visited the gym I used to went. He had been barkeeper for about 30 years in a small pub called „Jurgen Blins Box-Theke“ you could find directly beside the mainstation subway lines. I think he did a great job in this fight. He is still famous like anybody who can be proud in having been the opponent of the greatest and most famous athlete of the 20th century and the smartest and funniest fighter of all times... Watching Ali joking and showboating always makes me feel good and easy. Love that guy. God bless him.
