There actually more to the story to why the Mr. gold minifigure is so expensive. The Mr. gold minifigure is actually a banned lego product because everyone was super greedy about getting this Mr. gold minifigure that it soon led to chaos, so Lego had to ban the product and Lego never did a limited minifigure for those surprise minifigure bags again.

Lego house: is burned Fire Nation: Everything changed, when the Fire Nation attacked TD BRICKS: We didn't start the fire, it was always burning since the world's been turning Fire Nation: 👁👄👁 we just said we attacked it, are we a joke to you? To be fair, you didn't just pay for the Coke torso, you also paid for the polybag it came in itself. So both are special. But if any minifig's the true embodiment of capitalism, it's Mr. Gold. Not only because of his look, but he caused so many to go after him in 2013, making a mess at Lego Minifigures boxes as they frantically try to make a thousand bucks.
