    Wasn't there an additional phase in the Dream Dance Zone that takes the battle over to the special zone where the Eggrats stalks you down until you finish it off? Then it goes to Super Saiyan Eggman after that.

  • I feel like this remake would've been definitive if it didn't try to be the Dark Souls of Sonic fangames, lol. They just focused waaay too hard on difficulty, to the point that it's just no longer fun. Doesn't help that these bosses aren't entirely good on a design level either, take Sugar Splash's boss for example, it poorly conveys what you need to do. First, it doesn't help convey at all that you can knock the spheres back at him, you wouldn't think of trying at first either due to the electric field above you. Secondly, it doesn't show you what to do when you know how since they just bounce off Eggman, I didn't even know I was hitting it due to the red blending with the red background until I really focused on it. Then there's Cyan City's boss which is just BS. Not only you haft to wait through an autoscroller, but when you get to Mecha Sonic in the prototype Big Arms, you haft to wait for him to be vulnerable to hit him. This wouldn't be a big problem if there wasn't a long autoscroller before it, they're basically making you wait to get to a boss, beat it, only to fight another boss that requires you to wait for an opening. This game also has terrible pacing, you don't make players encounter this challenging of a boss as soon as the third zone, and some bosses just take way too long to actually beat. It also betrays how classic Sonic bosses are supposed to be, being able to beat a boss quickly should be a reward for knowing the boss's pattern. Here you can know everything they're gonna do but you still haft to wait for them to be vulnerable! [Disclaimer, I don't actually think every classic fangame's bosses should follow this, it's perfectly alright to change things up, but don't make most of the game a waiting's game just for the sake of challenge] I highly recommend the original After the Sequel, or I wish I could as the original website Lake had the original download link at is now gone. Sadly, Omega seems to be the most available version of After the Sequel. I have seen other people making remakes of the game, so maybe try to support them as I'd hate for this to be the only option for people wanting to try the game out.
