Nujiang Bridge 04:55

Location: This Nujiang Bridge is located in Basu County, Qamdo City, Tibet Autonomous Region, and is an important part of National Highway 318.

Construction history:
In 1950, the Chinese People's Liberation Army began to build the Nujiang Bridge when building the Sichuan-Tibet Highway.
In 1953, when the Nujiang Bridge was built, it was a temporary bridge.
In 1972, the bridge was converted into a cement concrete arch bridge and was used until December 2013.
In December 2013, in order to ensure the safe passage of the bridge, a steel frame bridge was built on the original Nujiang Bridge, and the original Baotong steel frame bridge was dismantled and rebuilt.
On December 18, 2016, the new Nujiang Bridge Baotong Steel Frame Bridge was officially opened to traffic.

Features and status: The bridge spans the Nujiang River, is 74 meters long, and is 2,730 meters above sea level. It has a steep terrain and is the "throat" of National Highway 318 of the Sichuan-Tibet Highway.

Historical significance: The Nujiang Bridge is not only a major transportation route, but also witnessed the peaceful liberation of Tibet and the construction of the Sichuan-Tibet Highway. It has important historical significance.

Tiger Mouth (video cover): 13:38

Location: Tiger Mouth is located at the end of the Nujiang Seventy-two Turns on National Highway 318 of the Sichuan-Tibet Highway, specifically in the Nujiang Grand Canyon. This section is an important and necessary steep road on the Sichuan-Tibet South Line.

Reason for the name: Tiger Mouth is named because of its steep terrain and its shape resembles a tiger's open mouth. This figurative metaphor not only vividly depicts the steepness of the section, but also impresses passing drivers and tourists.

Narrow road: The road at Laohuzui is narrow and can only accommodate one truck. Trucks passing through Laohuzui will slow down and honk their horns to alert oncoming vehicles. There are cliffs and the rushing Nujiang River on both sides of Laohuzui, which brings great pressure and challenges to all drivers passing through here.

Safety risks: Due to the complex road conditions and safety hazards such as falling rocks, drivers need to be extra careful on this section. At the same time, since this section is an important channel on the Sichuan-Tibet Highway, the traffic volume is large, which also increases the risk of traffic accidents.

End point: Basu County, Qamdo City, Tibet Autonomous Region

Some parts of the road are out of the world while some are just not good for heavy duty trucks. It seems like bikers enjoy using the road as some even zoomed pass you on the way with ease. It is a very refreshing vlog though. Thank you, sir.
