HOW TO DO 9 CANADIAN SMOCKING PATTERNS | Fabric Manipulation Technique | Didsbury Art Studio

So really excited to share this video as I thought maybe it might help to get multiple smocking techniques in one video rather than the usual just one. Includes; Wave, Dragon scales, Squares, Brick, Lattice, Rose, Arrow, Flower and Honeycomb designs.

HOWEVER....if you find you want to watch the individual videos I've made of each of the patterns they are organised below for ease. Thank you to the very kind subscriber who has just suggested this idea to me! Why didn't I think of that!☺️

Plough through them...scroll even further down and I've recommended MORE that you might like to watch as well...

After doing my Textiles degree I did my PGCE training in London to become an Art and Design Secondary School Teacher. Currently, I work in a hospital teaching art part-time to 16-18 year olds. In addition, also teach art in my studio on Saturdays and I offer textile workshops to schools. I set up this channel in April 2020 after being furloughed during Lockdown but soon realised I really enjoyed designing, creating projects, filming and editing videos.😍

Is there a book that shows all of these smocking patterns? I am having trouble seeing all of the lines where I'm supposed to be stitching. Thank you for a beautiful video.

Wonderful tutorial! Do you have links to the patterns you used? It hard to see the pattern you made.
