    There's profound rage and power in this soundtrack by Danny Elfman. It's so heavy and dark as it builds and builds until it explodes. It's all strung along by the falling six note motif that has these nostalgic undertones that convey Bruce's childhood trauma. That motif is repeated throughout followed by strings or done in variations of woodwinds and strings. The angry growling brass and booming double bass/tuba combo wraps it all up. Its marvelous!

    People hated on this movie for being too dark, and philosophical or whatever. But imo, that's what made this movie great. It was an actual character study on Bruce. And its lack of action wasn't that apparent to me. (Perhaps this is somewhat nostalgia speaking since i haven't seen it in a while). Im just sad we never got a sequel to this underrated gem.

    This particular version of the Hulk scared me as a ten-year-old kid on VHS (particularly during the final battle in the lake), but the music was and is awesome despite that.

    The part that begins at 0:21 to me sounds a lot like it's taking the 'growing anger' theme from the Bixby Hulk and turning it on its head into something more cerebral and somber. Kind of brilliant if that's the case.

    I was only 12 when I saw this in theaters back in 2003, I was always in awe when I heard the theme and always loved it, I was today years old when I found out that Danny Elfman composed it, and he is one of my favorite composers. The movie is great too, underrated but I feel like it’s the superior film from all the HULK films.
