I'm seeing a coralation with riders named Sean and riding for Mike's Bikes; Sean Strachan, Sean Burger, Sean Bennett, Sean Bradley on the Devo team. Maybe someday myself, Sean Lamoureux, can get good enough to ride for Mike's Bikes

I recently purchased this bike (from Mike's) with the same groupset, and based on your tire width video I had them mount 32mm before they shipped it to me. I've had three rides on it so far running the suggested Silca tire pressures, and I must say I can't go back to 28mm now. It rides so smooth and love everything about this bike. Thanks for influencing the draining of my savings account Jeff!
  • The talk of sorter cranks is real. I went from 172.5 to 160 on my cranks recently based on my bike fit (also a normal sized Caucasian man at 5'9) and it has changed my riding. I gained almost 25 watts since then, and not just the cranks, but having the more efficient pedal stroke, and having more confidence in the corners is amazing. Hopefully I can video the first crit in our new series on Oahu in March 23rd, if I do it, to send to you.

Looking good Jeff. Best of luck in this cycling year. Hopefully you and team pull out some great wins. Look forward to the videos.

The kit looks great, the bike looks great, and the video was just the right length. Wishing you great legs, and a successful season!

I raced on 175's for decades, and yes, I once made the mistake of trying to get one more revolution of the cranks, after I had a gap on the Bell lap, after a downhill before the last off camber turn. Did not end well. I left half of my rear end on the road.

Awesome video and bike 😍 also that kit looks awesome! I love the colors

Thats the first time I’ve heard that reasoning for shorter cranks, it makes a lot of sense!
  • @dbk81
Never thought of the shorter cranks for crits to avoid pedal strikes, interesting thought process. 👍🏼
  • @94mickmick
Remember following Eamon years and years ago what an awesome personality. Hope we see him on the channel soon.
  • @Southerncyclist
Crank Strike is the best reason I have heard for someone going to shorter cranks. Especially if you're tall.
  • @StachePower
Hambini would be proud of the wheel depth for crits ;)
  • When you’re not sponsored in this economy just race on used equipment and use a tablespoon of sugar with 1/2 lemon in your water bottle.
  • @ThomasHubik
If tires arent set in stone right now, try Challenge Criterium RS. For me much faster then GP5k (around 5% average speed), more grip and traction on the dry, worse in wet, insane comfort, probably grip and traction comes partly from tire adaptability to the ground. But insanly hard to fit or remove, at last on hooked wheels.

Do you use the SRAM power meter or power meter pedals? Good luck this year, I’m going into my first year of racing (cat 4/5) and find your race reviews incredibly informative!
  • @dylanl9532
the new bont vapor are so great. I don't need the wide version. And I don't need the heat molding to be comfortable. But it's even more expensive.
  • Pearl Izumi stuff rules, and is a great value compered to Castelli, Assos, Rapha, etc. I'm 6'0". 160 lbs. and I wear Medium in their stuff, so yeah, size down.
