Jon Bon Jovi's Secret To Staying Humble

Published 2024-06-16
It’s important to live without regrets, to try everything, but also to know when to quit. Jon Bon Jovi feels leaving a legacy isn’t about competing with others, but about being able to say you’ve been the best version of yourself.

In this chat with Fearne, Jon talks about why he reckons being hard working trumps talent, and why he continues to demand excellence from himself, even 40 years into his career. Jon also opens up about the reality of working with a bandmate with addictions, and how he’s been able to steer clear of rock’n’roll excesses (for the most part) himself.

Are you good at celebrating your successes? Between them, Fearne and Jon wonder if the Americans are better at boldly owning achievements than Brits...

Bon Jovi’s new album, Forever, is out now.

This is probably the most humble and honest interview I have ever watched. I have been a big fan of Jon bon Jovi and the band from the first time I heard their music in the early 80s. I'm now almost 50yrs and my opinion has never changed. I really hope that he gets back to touring again here in the UK 🇬🇧.

I went to Bon Jovi Concert here in Japan! I was a teenager✨ I’m going to be 55😄 I love Jon❤️
  • I love his voice singing or just talking I could listen to him all day long. His voice is very soothing to me.
  • This was such a lovely interview! He is an absolute icon, yet so humble and kind hearted! I really enjoyed this authentic conversation.

This is the most relaxed I've ever seen Jon in an interview. Fabulous job Fearne, thank you.
  • The highlight of my life was meeting JBJ when he owned the Philadelphia Soul. He allowed me five minutes to speak with him one on one in his VIP suite at the Pepsi Center. His character attracted me in the 80s. He has always been an ethical man, and his ethics is was propelled him in how he loves Dorothea, his kids, his fans, and comes thru in his lyrics, his work ethics, and interviews going 40 years back to this very day. He defines role model, and from the moment I saw him at McNichol’s stadium in ‘86 to hearing this interview, he’s been honest, humble, and yet a super star. Jon, you’re one of a kind with a heart of gold. Thank you for being authentic in all that you do and who you are.

I have so much respect for him & how he still believes in the American Dream. He cares for others & so down to earth . Thank you for doing this interview!!
  • Mr. Bongiovi has being a reference for me for 30 years now. Reference to my music writing and life attitude. Top man. Thanks for your legacy

Honestly, one of the best interviews with JBJ that I have heard in my 38 years of being a fan. Love the excitement and the different approach not to ask the same questions over and over again. Enjoyed this one to the max. Brilliant job ❤

Best interview I’ve seen since the documentary. Jon looks so relaxed talking about this stuff now. Wonderful work Fearne 🥰
  • Still fascinated by his voice , he is one of the rock artist that excels on this field
  • Fat Elvis still sounded amazing…but what a great interview. It’s nice to hear Jon Bon Jovi just speaking like a regular person. Struggles and triumphs. I loved him so much as a kid. My parents wouldn’t let me go to the concert, so my friend and I watched her older sisters get ready and leave for the concert. We played Slippery When Wet on repeat and felt sad all night. I never did get to see them in concert, maybe one day!
  • Such a humble man love it. You don’t see enough of this anymore
  • Bon Jovi has quite literally been the soundtrack of my life. I was born in 1984 so I've been a fan my whole life. An incredible talent and even better person.
  • It’s a pity that your YouTube channel doesn’t have the following it deserves because more eyes on it because from the telly but you own the direction of authenticity and richness of conversation
  • Fabulous interview Ferne loved it you brought out a different side to Jon he's very deep and intelligent about life

humble or not he was smart and knew how to work/ manipulate the music business to get everything he wanted, he put his all to live out his music career, you got to give this man full credit for all the years he pushed to be successful and now is a legend along with his band mates...❤I'm in my 50s and still love his music!!
