If you still have the printer could you print some of build in test? Self test: Turn off printer. Press and hold Line Feed while turning on the printer. Press Select to stop. In 1991 I was selling these printers. A customer called and want to buy one and I said just a moment and I'll get you a price. He said "it doesn't matter. Just send a new one, my old is broken. It is 10 years old". Imagine an inkjet printer working for 10 years?
