50 Years as a Snow Groomer : Frank Dusek

Published 2023-11-22
Tucked away in the Northwoods of Wisconsin, sits 500 miles of snowmobile trails that are taken care of by a group of volunteers. These volunteers are known as snow groomers and the team is made up of all volunteers who dedicate their time to take care of the trails and the people riding on them. Price County is home to someone who has been a part of the snow groomers since 1969 and continues to take care of the trails over 50 years later. Frank Dusek has been a pioneer in revitalizing Price County by giving back to the community that raised him.

My Dad, Lonnie Dunbar loved volunteering to help with the trails in Price County even though he hadn’t owned a snowmobile for 4 decades. In the still image of the people gathered to honor Frank I was able to find my dad in the crowd. This was special to me because he passed away on 9/1/23.
