I know it would mean the world to him...

Many of the languages spoken by the Nguni people of southern Africa as well as the San people have a range of click sounds.

In this video, Sakhile Dube from St Lucia in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, demonstrates how these click sounds are pronounced in the Zulu language.

He has an epic voice :)

The voice meant to narrate the universe, the smile meant to light it up

When he met his wife, they both clicked ;)

Not only does this guy have a fantastic speaking voice, but he's also a gifted explainer. He made everything very clear and gave excellent examples every step of the way. That's not common.

"We split into four" all fingers expand to the outer reaches of the universe

This chap's voice is so enchanting, I'd gladly listen to him narrate a 4-hour hemorrhoid cream commercial.

“Well how did it go with your visit to the Zulus?!?” “Well we clicked immediately”
  • @PhantomSavage
It would be wild to hear him pronounce some Aztec names in the same way, like Xochiquetzal or Tezcatlipoca 😂

can we respect the fact this man taught us for nearly 3 minutes straight without missing a beat
  • This man needs to be hired to narrate a documentary on Zulu history and culture.
  • @Lost_Lex
When he said "have any questions?" my brain started spilling out my ears

The hard part about those click sounds isn't just making the actual sound. It's incorporating them flawlessly and seamlessly into words

He should definitely be narrating documentaries. What an incredible voice.
  • I feel like a wormhole just opened up in the universe for me watching this. I hope this language is never lost.

The language is fascinating, but he also has amazing vocal quality. Attention getting an with a warm richness to its timbre.

I will say it, too. As a 71 years old bass singer, myself, this dudes voice is great. He just rolls out that bass as free and easy as water over a waterfall. I gotta listen again.
  • Someone hire this man to narrate all of Discovery channel's animal documentaries.

Seriously, though, this person rivals the BEST professor I ever had, who was teaching Russian Linguistics at Georgetown University. This is unparalleled. The level of physical expression of sound he conveys is worth....I don't even know what. ARE THE PROCEEDS OF THIS VIDEO BEING SHARED WITH THIS PERSON??! THEY NEED TO BE SHARED WITH THIS PERSON!!!!!!!

YouTube algorithm magic at work. A video 4 years old - and a gem! What a short, informative and charming little video. You sir seem like a genuinely kind, intelligent, friendly man full of humor and a love of your country and its cultures and of course languages. Great voice too! You should sing!
