I've never seen any of your videos before but I just subbed. I really like your attitude and respect towards the fish.

Oh you got some flathead/walleye candy right there
  • @256ttucker
Be careful, I'm my state it's illegal to keep brim caught in a throw net.

I was doing it wrong for a little while, then I got taught how to properly throw it like a ballerina, had it down after 10 tries on a 4ft cast net. Perfect twirling circle. When a true fisherman say's you're doing it wrong, I listen.. Will be catching up on your adventures. This was fun to watch. Sorry, I was late to the party but I'm here now.

Just found this channel. Appreciate your passion. I just recently started net fishing after spending an entire day surf fishing down at the beach in SC and coming up empty....meanwhile a guy about 100 yds away went out beyond the break with his net and caught 3 sizeable cobia in less than an hour. Went home and ordered a net that evening lol.

Word of advice. When you throw so close to the current, the net washes over itself and closes. Second, when you throw you need to give it time to sink. The majority of the fish are deeper then your going.
  • Good video. We use a washtub to drop the catch into. It gets them out of the net faster, and safer at times.

I throw my cast net with several different methods, but the one you are using now is very similar to my go-to method, it's usually referred to as half-and-half, or the 50-50 technique, I do just a couple little things difference, but for the most part it's very similar.

You need to spin that net when you toss it, like you're tossing a giant frisbee
  • @owenshaw99
Thank you for putting the carp back, mad respect
  • I got a six foot cast net. I've been practicing for a year now! Still haven't been able to do it right! Lol

Outstanding work chap. New fan here. Your fact about alligators releasing grip once the body feels water or freedom, really is quite insightful knowledge, and quite obviously learned through experience. Makes sense too. Bravo
  • Crazy, all those fish are in that small area, who woulda thought.

I love the Portapotty bucket. Usually I don't catch crap, I dispense it. Nah, any fishing is good fishing as long as it's fun. Good luck
  • I find it really interesting that bluegill and pumpkin seeds are sitting in the fast flow Like that.... I think alot of the literature on our native fish and their habitats is incorrect!!! Very cool
