Come for a trip on Australia's most epic railway journey, The Indian Pacific, all the way from Sydney to Perth via Adelaide and the Nullarbor.

This is a four-day, three-night 4352km journey traverses mountain ranges, arid deserts as well as the longest straight stretch of railway in the world, all in air-conditioned comfort with sumptuous three-course meals.

Named for the two oceans the train encounters on its journey, the Indian Pacific travels between Perth, Adelaide and Sydney on a spectacular 4352km crossing.

Find out why this transcontinental train is considered one of the world's great railway journeys.

Dad left his home town and ended up in Peterborough looking for work in 58 . He got a job in the Railway Roundhouse. He shortly after met Mum who was a Nurse in Training at the P'borough Hospital , when he was admitted for a bad fall. Mum's Family are Railway Family . They all left around 1962. They can remember it being so cold it was snowing , but they remember it being Boiling Hot Climate

This train journey in platinum service is at the top of my bucket list. Nothing like this exists in the U.S. We had 1 ocean to ocean line here that ran from the Atlantic to the Pacific, but it was destroyed by a hurricane, and isn’t likely to be replaced anytime soon.

Thank you so much for having us along with you. I was beyond excited to hear that you were doing the Indian Pacific. Glad you made the most of it even with the itinerary hiccups. Keep up the great work, and as always looking forward to your next video. Love from the U.S.

I have watched several Indian Pacific videos recently, so much of it I've already seen before. But I really appreciate the extra effort you went to to include all the other little details that fill in the gaps.
  • My 7-year-old boy loved this video. Yesterday, we accidentally came across this video, and I showed it to him as he is fascinated by trains and train tracks/maps in Australia. Now, he is binge-watching your other videos. He also requests you to do a video on Gulflander and Spirit of Queensland. Can't wait to see what you come up with next! Good job!
  • I have always wanted to make this journey but I’m too old and sick to travel now. I really enjoyed watching this video as it makes me feel like I went there too 😊

I did the Indian Pacific from Perth to .Sydney twenty years ago. Your podcast has encouraged to do it again. Great vid, Adam, thankyou
  • @GNoteSmith
❤Well done. Good clear voice over, great photography and editing, right down to the food types, entertainment, Wi-Fi, off-train possibilities, (although not this time)lol and lots of side related information. After watching this I feel as though I’ve been there! Thank you 🎉
  • At just the time I was pondering the dangers of being on a passenger train traversing a 400 mile stretch of track through a desolate area you showed the spare engines. Excellent timing!
  • @Chrisjewell
Great video Adam, I appreciate the hard work it takes to make a video of this length and keep it entertaining!
  • @sarbaazchabahar
I always dream of riding the Indian Pacific! What a great way to enjoy the vast Aussie land and it's pure clean nature. Thank you for sharing✌️👍
  • @corinne8569
That was freakin awesome Adam!!!! Just finished watching now!! Thanks so much for taking dad and I with you on your journey on the Indian Pacific... Sometimes we go to a small remote platform in East Orange just to watch it go past on a Wednesday night around 8.50pm... The driver gave us a wave and even sounded the horn just for the two of us!! Thanks again... A dream that hopefully will come true for us too one day... 💜

A freight train carrying food to Perth runs along the railway line that you took from Sydney via Adelaide to Perth. A freight train transporting food consists of the following parts: at the beginning there are two diesel electric locomotives, behind which there is first a freight car that has two smaller container tanks with fuel for the locomotives, the next car is a passenger car in which one controller sits, behind the passenger car there are several freight cars which transport two container refrigerators standing on top of each other and finally there are refrigerator wagons.

I really enjoyed this epic adventure across Australia! Broken Hill looked inviting. Too bad you didn't get to go to the miner's memorial historical tour. 😢 Every place you stopped was very exciting and, as always, a very pleasant narrator. Thank you, Adam, for such a wonderfully filmed journey! I really feel like I went with you!😊❤📣📣🍾🍾👍

Your video is full of information. About the off train excursions, about the train itself, about some history and about the landscapes you travel through. All accompanied by a calm and clear way of commenting. I liked your style of presenting that much, that I'm saving up from right now to make this beautiful journey once myself. Thanks for posting!!
  • @edwardvigil5891
Just completed the journey in December 2023. What an incredible adventure! I was lucky enough to afford a twin as I wanted my own bathroom. I loved all the stops and fell in love with Adelaide along the way! I thought the staff was simply wonderful with one lovely young woman that melted my heart ❤! The IP is a bucket list journey that you will never forget!
