Led Zeppelin formed in 1968 and went on to become one of the most influential, innovative, and successful groups in modern music, having sold more than 300 million albums worldwide. The band rose from the ashes of The Yardbirds, when Jimmy Page brought in John Bonham, John Paul Jones, and Robert Plant to tour as The New Yardbirds. In 1969, Led Zeppelin released its self-titled debut which was produced by Page, as were all the subsequent albums. It marked the beginning of a 12-year reign, during which the group was widely considered to be the biggest and most innovative rock band in the

  • :face-fuchsia-tongue-out:I'm 70 yr old Vietnam Veteran and I remember me and fellow Sailors listening to this album and all other Led Zeppelin songs and we felt like we were back home. I miss those good old days but I can still and will listen to them as long as I am alive. No one could replicate this music. Thanks and God Bless you and Led Zeppelin.
  • I'm a 70 yr old woman & I wore this album out playing it so much. My father couldn't take it any more & smashed it in pieces. To this day I can hear in my head the complete album. Ty
  • Finally someone understands that people like to listen to complete albums without interruption as well instead of a playlist of an album

Led Zeppelin ,the Beatles and the Rolling Stones are 3 things that the UK has given to the world to enjoy. Now all go foreword and spread the gospel of truly great music like this.

After announcing themselves to the world on their very first official gig at Surrey University on October 15th, 1968, members of Led Zeppelin received an offer they couldn't even dream of โ€“ a year's worth of touring the US. The offer came after the Jeff Beck Group pulled out at the last minute, and an opening act was needed for a string of headliners including Iron Butterfly, Vanilla Fudge, and Country Joe & The Fish โ€“ all more than respectable bands at the time. However, the headliners realized what they were dealing with even after the first few dates. Led Zeppelin would whip the audience into such a frenzy that nothing the other bands did could really live up to the opening experience. Eventually, Iron Butterfly & Co. simply stopped showing up on their own gigs, and Led Zeppelin became an unofficial main act for the remainder of the tour.

Great album. Whole Lotta Love...i remember hearing it on the radio, that middle part freaked me out. I was too young to understand. Born in '64 but had 4 older brothers and even my country music loving brother rocked to Zep. When i was about 10 or 11 my cousin n I rode with another brother from Santa Rosa to Bakersfield, Ca...over 300 miles. We listened to Zep most of the way. Still, i knew some of their songs but not titles, n they were not my favorite....Summer of 1980. Just 2 years before graduating high school....Zep was becoming more familiar. In Thru the Out Door came out. Back in 1977 i was only 12 n unable to go to concerts yet. All my brothers saw Led Zeppelin in LA on their '77 tour. I finally have my own room n stereo after Freshman year. One Summer day i place the Song Remains the Same on my turntable. That live double album remained on the stereo for a month. And now i understand just how great they are. And finally, i will see them in concert... But i never did. Bonzo died September 25, 1980. Led Zeppelin was no more. Gone but forever remembered and forever #1 for me. And it is because there will never be 4 gods in one band like that again. On a side note the day Bonzo died remained a very sad day for me...for 13 years. Then, as if from above, my daughter was born. So now i rejoice in being a fan, and a father, and Zep will be with me forever

It's my belief that Jimmy Page is in the realm of composers such as Beethoven, Bach and Brahms. 300 years from now he will be still be changing lives through the magic of timeless music.

I was 16 when this album came out, right on the heels of their first. I remember listening with huge, old fashioned can-style headphones. It blew my mind. I've loved Zeppelin ever since...but I love Zepplin I and II the most.
  • Definitely my favorite Zeppelin album by far ....No skips!! Who's still listening in 2023 I'm 50 been listening along time what about yall??
  • Turned 64 this summer, so in the 60s I listened to A.M Radio. When I was 10 in 1970 I heard a Led Zeppelin album for the first time from my friends big brother. Instantly fell in Love with the creation of Rock Music and L.Z being like the God.Tuned into F.M. and never looked back. I would have sold my Soul to have been able to trip out at one of their Live concerts
