I really like how Kevin rolls right up to the sidewalk by the store and dumps antifreeze all over the place then goes inside and buys an ice cream. Classy...

What a find. I'm a fellow Iowan, live about a half hour north of ya. About 20 years ago I had a neighbor give me a 1970 Amc Hornet that had been in their machine shed since the 80s. I messed around with it off and on over a few weeks and got it running and driving, it's been a fair weather cruiser for me ever since. it's almost the same green exterior color with red and green plaid interior. It has the smaller 232 inline 6 and a 4 speed. It's not a fast car, it's not a "cool" car, but pretty much everytime I drive it anywhere a random old timer will wonder over and tell me about how they haven't seen an Amc in decades and ask me all about it, people still seem to have a sweet spot in their hearts for them.

I have a 72 waiting for the engine to be put together and re-installed. Factory air, my grandparents purchased it brand new off the lot in 72. Watching this definitely gives me a reason to get the work done.

Wow. This is the first time I saw this channel. I was attracted because a coworker of mine waaaay back in high school drove a gremlin. His was a ‘semi automatic’ but the color green no matter what! I don’t know ANYTHING about cars, and I am still astonished that it would even start let alone run. I am inspired to learn more about vehicles. Especially those from our past. If this old Gremlin could work after decades of neglect, then it proves that anything is possible with a little know how ✌️❤️🔥

I miss sick factory stripes like this. The paint job is awesome.
  • Can’t wait to watch all of this. We’re actually recovering a 1967 AMC rebel SST next week, so this is pretty damn cool. UPDATE: Guy who has the car won’t be able to see us for a month, so I’m going to try to push out the first video in the next week. Stay tuned!

The color and design of the AMC is very nice and rare. You will not find any other cars like that on the road. You are lucky to have a nice body car like that

Thank you! This video made me miss my first car: 1976 AMC Gremlin. I drove the wheels off that car. Truly a car I could work on. I replaced the brakes, water pump, radiator among other minor fixes. Lots of room in the engine bay. What a car!

The bit at 40:15 when you start walking back from picking up the wrench and the sight of the car sitting on its own in the environment from a distance hits you is SO wholesome, I love that feeling
  • @SuperHaunts
I've heard many people complain about AMC cars, but I absolutely loved the Pacer!

As a huge hot wheels collector of gremlins, this video was absolutely fantastic!! Thank you! Safe travels!!!
  • Cool fact, my grandfather was a foreman in one of the Pittsburg, Pennsylvania steel mills that made the metal for AMC. It's very likely my grandfather passed off the steel this car was made out of.

I worked at a Pontiac/AMC dealership back in the 70's. Those engines were pretty good. The only thing I saw was hi-oil consumption due to bad valve stem seals. I replaced a TON of them. I owned a Hornet Wagon, which is pretty much the same car, just longer. As simple and reliable as a 16 oz Stanley Claw Hammer.

What an incredible find. Couldn't believe it when you had it idling nicely after sitting for so long.
  • @Tokey_The_Bear
You're not the only one that loves a gremmie way more than you'd expect. Theyre pretty cool little cars. Shockingly, shockingly heavy. Like 3800lbs. But very cool.
  • @Adrian_Ruiz508
How did you know that we would ever need an hour long video? 😲 I'm impressed with how well these run on startup!
  • @MechaTheSpider
Dude that Gremlin is AWESOME. I'd love to see more of it!!!

I bought one of those when they first came out. It was not a bad car. It rode nice, got very good gas mileage, it was pretty quick. If I remember correctly it had a 20-gallon tank gas tank.
