  • Prince just “appearing” out of nowhere is the most Prince thing I’ve ever heard lol

Dave is the boy next door that found the golden ticket. No matter how old he gets, he is just a 12 year old boy, living the dream.

It's been said that Prince appeared like Houdini, played like Hendrix, and strutted off stage like George Jefferson.

Dave Grohl, member of Nirvana and Foo Fighters, jams with Prince once: "Oh god, this is the best band I've ever been in in my life."

You know Prince had respect for Dave when he covered the Foo Fighters during the Superbowl.

Dude, Imagine seeing Dave and Prince playing, "whole lotta love", they were a few lucky techs in the arena that day.

Broke my heart when he said “And I never saw him again...” But still an awesome story!

That’s bad ass that Prince said Dave had a heavy foot. Then started playing Whole lotta love. That’s a Bonham compliment if I’ve ever heard one.
  • Prince did an impromptu performance in Minneapolis in 1989 for his local fans…$10 to get in. He had the purple cape on and played for 4 hours nonstop. 💜

Prince was a genius. I was lucky enough to see him in concert 4 times. My friend was working in security for one of the concerts. He told me that on one of the days of the concert he arrived at the venue early. He was experimenting with a riff he had in mind and gradually expanded the melody, created an awesome solo, added in other instruments, and the lyrics and by the end of the afternoon he had a completed song which he then played at that evening's concert. That's how easy it was for him.
  • Nothing humanizes a rock-star more than watching them fangirl over someone else.
  • Saw Prince play Whole Lotta Love at an after party in Winnipeg on his birthday in the mid 90s. Probably the single best cover of anything I’ve ever heard.

Prince was notorious for his after show jam sessions. I saw him at the forum for the Welcome 2 America tour and one night he played a show that lasted 4 hours / we thought he was done ✅ since he had already done 10 encores but as we’re shuffling back to our car - Prince was still jamming - we could hear him still rocking for those with the will , the strength to rock w him … the man was a force . Unbelievable…. Oh and the shows cost exactly $25 bucks to see a legend - I went 3 nights to see my musical hero . Thank you Prince ☔️when he played purple I got chills .

Prince was a musical genius. Seriously, what a catalogue of work. Just unbelievable. What a loss.

I love Prince stories. They’re always crazy and unbelievable.

I sat a couple seats away from Dave at that Forum Concert series performance that night- in the front row of the risers. I remember Dave just standing around at the end of that concert kind of stunned by the whole thing he just saw- I think you could see he was really kind of blown away by the performance. Everyone waited forever for Prince to come back out for an encore because rumor had it the night before he had played like an hour after the end of the concert and he just kept playing. So this night, nobody went home at the end. Nobody. The applause went on for a very long time and he never came out.. ... like a half hour or so and eventually when people finally gave up and after the cameramen came down from the overhead rigs and after the lights went back on Prince rode out on a bicycle and tooled around the main floor for a few minutes with a big smile on his face and he quickly left. I won't forget that one anytime soon. All seats for all 19 Forum concerts were the same low price. ALL SEATS. My front row seat that night was 25 dollars. So I went like two more times later that week. No two nights had the same setlist. Amazing concert series. I loved the fact that he priced the concerts cheap enough that everyone in town could afford to go. Real music by real musicians.
  • Whenever somebody tells a great Prince story, they just light up. It's awesome.

God, what I would pay to hear Prince on guitar and Dave on drums performing whole lotta love
