Video Contents:

0:48 - Airport Layout/Diagram Description

1:00 - Military Assault Strip - Pilots need to be aware of a military assault strip located approximately 1 mile SSE of the airport.

1:26 - Parallel Runways - Like other airports with parallel runways with staggered thresholds, pilots must be cautious to ensure they are landing on the correct runway.

2:02 - Hot Spot 1 - Taxiway J and W intersect near the approach end of runway 10L. Pilots occasionally miss the turn for taxiway W and cross the runway 10L approach hold.

2:50 - Approach Holds - Similar to Hot Spot 1, there are other areas in which approach holds can present a problem if pilots are unfamiliar with their location on the field.

3:42 - Taxilane K - Aircraft on the south side of the airport taxiing to runways 10L or 10R via taxiways B, F, J, have mistaken taxilane K for taxiway, and turned too soon. Taxilane K is a non-movement area.

I have not yet flown into KBOI but most certainly will at some point and time. These videos are very helpful to me being that I am very visual. Thank you for providing

I’ve flown into KBOI several times but have always parked at the GA ramp on the southwest side and departed 10R or 28L. I can see how a clearance to cross 10R for 10L with a holding instruction at the approach hold line for 10L could get confusing. Appreciate these videos.
  • Great and succinct info - Thanks! Maybe you guys could work with Foreflight/Garmin to include links to these videos in their apps for those planning flights to these airports.
