I officially went from severe depression to moderate to mild and now I have more days where it's basically unnoticeable. I absolutely hope this trend continues in the right direction
  • The worst depression I’ve experienced is not being able to move completely paralyzed like being in a prison
  • @croozerdog
Major depression is so weird, it doesn't feel like those symptoms or like sadness, its like its own fully fledged state of consciousness
  • Severe depression is awful. Honestly can’t even stand the holidays because it always triggers my episodes. Being around family doesn’t make me happy like it does for other people.

I suffered severe depression and excessive alcohol use after losing my wife 8 years ago. It’s just amazing how psilocybin containing mushrooms works more than antidepressants. Psilocybin treatment actually saved my life. 4 years totally clean. Never thought I would be saying this about mushrooms.

I was diagnosed as a teen, and felt like a lot were onset by just that time in my life, and now a decade later, am coming to terms with the fact that I had a spell of it again, naturally due to grief of suddenly losing my mom in January. I’m on the mend from it, and I appreciate the growth I’ve done since consciously making an effort to not “sit and stew” in it, but feel through it, and make efforts to do things that will help like working out and journaling.

I can tell when my depressive symptoms get worse when I each very unhealthy the previous day. Just changing my diet a little, walking my dog everyday, having a good morning routine, and practicing mindfulness helps my symptoms a lot. Thanks for the video.

I'm a champ - I had 8 out of 10 symptoms when I had my last major depression. It also triggers my anxiety ! I can confirm that aerobics help your mood a lot ! It's just hard to pick myself up and go to the gym but I have done it in the past for 3 months and the results are amazing !

Thank you so much for this incredible and clear explanation of what depression is. Hopefully thousands of people will get treatment thanks to this video. 🙏🏽

I have persistent depressive disorder and up until I was diagnosed I thought everyone lived like that.
  • My symptoms of being depressed make my chronic pain worse. And my pain makes my mood worse. It can be hard to break this cycle but being away from people and in nature or with animals really helps. Exercise also helps as does eating well but these are expensive.

Now I understand I’m suffering with mild depression!! I been struggling with this mild depression for about two decades! But it seems now clear that it was mild depression! Thank you very much Dr . Teracy
  • I would like to see a video on how depression/anxiety affects intimate relationships. I love your work Dr. Marks!
  • Just wanna say, your videos have been lifechangingly useful to me. Thanks for all the great content!
  • @pfang7229
Life saving work you’re doing. I’ve been waiting for an available therapist for YEARS to no avail. Thank you for providing such an important service for those without the financial resources to help themselves ❤️
  • When you described depression as a symptom of a burnout, it was 10/10 for my thoughts. I'm dealing with depression for more than a year now and feeling better, but man, that sleep deprivation and anxiety just finished me. I've been very strict with my sleeping routine ever since. Never have I read so many books ever before🤣
  • @tricuspa
Glad to hear you're back, hopefully things have been going great. This was a good one right before the holidays.
  • I can relate to burn out. I thought I was depressed as well and the way Dr. Marks described it is exactly how I felt.
