My grandmother grew up in Alaska, and one of her favorite things to do when she was a kid was go outside at night with a blanket and a Thermos of hot cocoa, and she'd just lay down on the blanket and look up as the northern lights did their thing.

It is my life dream to go to Alaska and just lay on the ground and watch the stars all night
  • I'm so blessed to live in Alaska and see these beautiful lights in real time, not sped up time lapse, but slow dancing like streams of glitter from heaven filling the dark winter sky with Light and Love from God above.
  • Beautiful!!! When I was young the Northern Lights made an appearance in Michigan and I was in awe! God is Great! 🙏❤️
  • The sheer beauty of Aurora Borealis is breathtaking. Enough to make you drop your cup of cocoa. The wonders of nature are simply endless and this spectacle does not disappoint. I could lie on the grass and watch this forever.
  • I just watch the Most Beautiful Alaska's Northern Lights. I ever have seen in my Life.

I went on an Alaska tour a few years ago in September where you go to Fairbanks and then get bussed up to a little place up in the mountains to see the Northern Lights. We stayed there for a week, and NOTHING. It was cloudy one night, but the other 5 nights (we were there 6 nights), the lights just didn't happen. They said it was very unusual to go a whole week with nothing. Spent a lot of money on that trip too and was hugely disappointed. It was awesome to see Alaska though, and I had never been, but I don't think I would have spent all that time and money if I would have known there would be no Northern Lights. I have seen them a couple of times from where I live, but I was looking forward to seeing them bright and overhead.

It's amazing, how beautiful our Universe is. Imagine, that it actually are gamma-ray bursts caused by our Sun, they are deadly and could in a moment take us back to the Stone Age, when it comes to technology and civilization. The are filtered by our atmosphere, and that's.what we see, just nice colors on the night sky
