Respect on James for doing this segment on American TV knowing that most people couldn't care.
  • @David_Bower
He doesn't care whether his audience wants to hear this. He's British, so he's going to speak up about this regardless, and I commend him for it.
  • @Ayush-wb5wn
The funny thing is he couldn't even get attention from the people in the room he was speaking in but he earned the respect of each and everyone of us football fans around the world. We love you James
  • You can take Corden out of England but you can't take England out of Corden.. i truly respect the guy

“I refuse to call it soccer.” I love you James.

Not sure Americans can understand the feelings behind this and the effects it will have on communities all over UK
  • @MaSsiVeGaming1
Love how James was trying so hard to prevent himself from saying "they are trying to Americanise the sport". It's a tricky situation here. He feels passionate about it but doesn't want to offend the audience and the American public.

Football not soccer. Respect to James Corden for bringing this up in American tv🙏
  • @tanveer8518
James really spoke his mind when nobody else cared in that room. Respect for James 📈

"Leicester have won more than Tottenham" true Corden, sed no one laughed.

I can see the sheer pain in his eyes when expressing this, I feel you James!
  • Fair play to James for sticking to his English routes and bringing this to attention even though no one there cared

The American audience don't care but the rest of the world does. This is a sport where people in Asia wakes up at 3am on a workday to watch live.

Man, James Cordon deserves an award for this speech. I truly shed a tear because of how much passion went into it. You don't often see this amount of genuineness from him in my honest opinion but it truly hit home. Deserves the upmost respect for saying it on a show in a country that doesnt nearly understand or care about this sport as much as Europe does and it was truly brave of him to do so. The reason these matters should be addressed is because it could happen to any sport in the world, not just football. And how truly devastating it is to people's passions.

James Corden is one of the few celebrities that never fails to impress me. He's just too damn likeable and talented for so many reasons and this is video is just another of them. You can tell that he stays true to who he is and stands up for what he believes and that takes courage and a whole lot of character if you ask me.
  • James Cordan explained what football really is. It's not just kicking a ball around, there's overflowing passion, hopes and desire behind it.
  • You may not see it but James was about to cry, and that's how every football fan across the world feels right now
  • @u8f7
James explained the heart of the issue really clearly. I really understand it now.
  • James: It would be a closed system with no competition. Americans: Wait, you mean there are sports not like that?
  • @ajfreeney
My respect for this man has skyrocketed. He spoke about an issue that mattered to him and his country in front of an audience that didn't give a shit. 👏
