The entire orchestra: "Tchaikovsky, no!!" Tchaikovsky: "Tchaikovsky YES!" *Opera house burns down*

The cannons broke one of my bass speaker when I was 17 years old, still love it after 30 years later.

"Alright Tchaikovsky, you need to write something that will blow the audience away." "Blown away you say?"
-
"So anyway, I started blasting" - Tchaikovsky 1880

Beethoven: Im deaf Tchaikovsky: I make people deaf

Youtube requiring adblockers be disabled was a smart move on their part. Hearing an ad for SleepNumber beds right in the middle of the song really adds to the spirit of the piece and brings Tchaikovsky's original vision into the modern era.

the first major use of bass boost/overdrive in recorded history, from what I can tell. the cannons are so loud that they create a distortion effect in the audio. he might be memed for it a bunch, but Tchaikovsky was doing what the modern producers do, long before it was considered cool, and somehow managed to be more famous than 99% of them to this day. absolute legend.

Friend: 'Oh thats cool, you can compose with violins?' Tchaikovsky: 'I said violence'

There's a special place in hell for people who put ads in the middle of music.

When I was a child back in the 1960s, we had this on vinyl. We played it until we wore it out. Thank you to my parents for installing a love of classical music in me that continues to this day

Tchaikovsky: Have you ever been to a concert with Field Artillery? -Audience: N-no? Tchaikovsky: WOULD YOU LIKE TO?

Conductor hits the stand " Third cannon, you're out of tune. "
-
Beethoven: "Man I can't hear!" Tchaikovsky: "Don't worry, you will feel it!"
-
I know Tchaikovsky himself didn't like it but it is a perfect soundtrack for a film adaptation of War and Peace.
