William Mariner called Samoa “Hamoa” back in early 1800s. Appreciate all the work & incite on Tongan history from y’all!
  • You both should do a rection for the interview of Siaosi Fatafehi Toutaitokotaha, father of George Tupou the Second. It concerns where the name of Tonga came from. It also proves the Tui Manu'a predates the Tu'i Tonga line. I would like to see you two try to explain this away 😂
  • Your father is warranted to speak on the Tu'i Tonga History because he is a direct descendant of the Tu'iTonga plus he's from Mu'a. Opeti Taliai, Mahina and the Lo'aus are not from Mu'a so they will go off on the Queen Salote's History. The Tu'i Kanokupolu will always trace their lineage back to Samoa because they were married to Samoans. We all know that the Punake's and the Taula Eiki's were the ones who carried the Tala 'oe Fonua (history) through the Chants, Songs, and dance. No one will question the Punake's from Mu'a because still to this day they hold on to traditions that are only kept inside Mu'a. Majority of the Queen Salote songs she composed she went to Mu'a to ask for help because she knew where to go if she wanted Tongan traditional songs done right e.g Hiva Leaheleaki
  • Rarotongans and tahitians can agree with the Tui manu'a to us we call them Manuka Tere Manu'a - tere (Great manuka). We have no stories of going there and paying tribute to them cause of some umiti but we sing old songs of Havaiki,Kuporu and Manuka Tere. Songs and stories rarely sung and told today because we mainly speak on old legends and Christianity. And on fiji the first people to fiji was not black they were the same people as the rest of Polynesia. This is where the wars broke out in fiji over the control of the lands this is where samoa come in cause samoa recognized the original people of fiji as their own. Fijians today will claim they are the start of our people I'm not fijian but get a couple fijians into this podcast and they'll say their empire came before any other empire in the pacific.
  • 💯💯💯 Taliai, surprisingly, a ha’amoa from Tonga lol
  • Have you guys read Pita Vi's journal? He mentioned the last war against Laufili Tonga (Tu'i Tonga).
  • This is where you guys need to understand about our people and our diet. We had no pigs or horses lamb and cows to eat. Our diet was based around the sea. Our people are sea people and so what if samoans brought seafood to tonga to pay tribute to the tongan king. Ypu forget the food the sea provides. All types of fish l, samoans were experts of catching tuna fish. You got crabs tukumisi eels sharks etc. That's why we based our die at around the moana. The only land food we had was rats birds chickens and dogs plus the plantation back then food was worth far more then gold. And another thing theirs no stories of eastern polynesians saying they were under the Rule of the Tui Tonga or paying any tribute to them for so called Inasi.

So technically, if the political, titles, land inheritance are passed down through the eldest male, that would make our current King, from Tupou the fourth a Tungí or Tu’i Ha’atakalaua instead of Tupou. They’re basically using their mother’s last name..
  • @mellow267east
Everyone knows that the first Tui Manu’a king is Tui Manuikipedia😂😂😂
  • How do you guys know he got his theories from the kava tonga?? I've been to dozens of faikava and you do not wanna know half the things I've seen and heard among the kakai tonga he😂
  • Pretty much just threw this guy under the bus the whole time😂 and I've heard alot of tongans who agree with this guy.
  • @ptschaumkel
Most Tongans don’t even know their own history.
  • @CLYDEMORE
imagine getting a phd from a foreign university on your own history 💀 The grift😆
  • @leont5096
Opeti sole ai tae must have been paid alot of money by a samoan to make up this kai mumu`a fable😂😂😂😂😂😂
  • @samp7000
