that fact that a $3.5k headset and $500 headset are even close enough to be remotely comparable should tell you something in itself.
  • @zfold4702
For $3500, each member in a family of 4 can have a personal Quest 3 device and can enjoy the VR experience together.

Watching this video on my quest 3 512gb inside a photo realistic enviornment of Bryce canyon. youtube is about 150 inches wide in front of me smiling because i paid 650 not 3500. time to play some Red Matter.

I think one thing I don't see alot in some of these reviews is the ecosystem....as someone that doesn't have any Apple products I would need to spend $3500 on a Vision pro....I need an iphone if I want to use Facetime/Messaging on there, I need a Macbook if I want to take advantage of their "look at your screen feature". That is like 10k or something. not including all the services. That is the part I just don't like about Apple they just try to wall you in so much. This thing looks freaking awesome and hope Quest can make something to compete with some of this stuff. I know quest 3 can already do alot of this and before Vision pro came out there were people going to coffee shops in the Quest. But unless you are already in the Apple ecosystem it just doesn't make real sense to get one of these.

The quest 3 is the better headset in my opinion, but the vision pro will help push the VR/XR industry forward and has the potential to greatly improve with software updates and more apps, we'll see what apple comes out with in the coming months.

For me when it comes to comparing and "What does this headset bring to the table". The vision has to bring 7 times more to the table. 7 times the price means for me it simply has to bring 7 times more. Most videos (not this one). People keep talking about the vision like it's the only VR headset. They come out with things like "You can have a virtual desktop! You can watch TV on it!". Yeah you can do all that on the quest 3 for 7 times cheaper. So for me until vision is doing a LOT more for it's price tag. I just think the quest 3 is worth it more.

Great comparison from someone with VR experience! There are way too much "first time headset" reviews and we all know the first time you ever wear a headset is always awesome.

As someone interested in developing apps and exploring the spatial computing thing, I bought the Quest 3 and I'm very happy with it. I'm not an Apple hater, but I just think that you don't gain that much from the Vision Pro compared to Quest 3 right now. The big thing here is the mixed reality experience, the spatial computing thing, and both deliver that. I'll wait the industry evolve before spending a lot of money on a device like this.
  • I am a VR veteran who has been an enthusiast since 2016,. and I have had every Oculus headset except the way overpriced not worth your money, Pro. I have also had the HTC Vive, and for a short time the PSVR. Without even watching this video, I already know the answer for a 100% fact. The Quest 3 is a steal for $500 and you get everything you could ask for to game and run social and media apps. Apple Vision is for rich business people who want the latest and greatest in the new niche space of spatial computing or having a headset for a monitor. It is designed as a workspace to run all of your ipad apps, iphone apps or media in 2d just like on your regular devices except your 2d apps which stay 2d are in a 3d setting within the headset. It has the best quality passthrough on the market right now, but has zero software to make a purchase worth it. The Vision Pro is nice hardware but there is very little to no software that utilizes the hardware of the headset and your paying close to 4K with tax for the privilege, when the Quest 3 is 1/8 the price and can run both dedicated Quest 3 AAA Games and apps from the Oculus Meta store, but also connect to your PC to play PC VR games from the same store and also the Steam VR store. There is no contest the Quest 3 is the winner by miles.

First time I've come to your channel. You do a great job an explaining and visualizing your points. Love it! Subscribed.

So, to me, if I want to experience AR/VR now, get a Quest 3. Use that until Apple Vision Air comes out.
  • If the cheap stock headstrap with the Quest 3 is more comfortable than the Vision Pro, then image how the Quest 3 with a BoboVR S3 would compare.
  • @jimmyTimtam
I couldn't justify paying $3500 for Apples device when the Quest 3 is $500 and way more games and features. Maybe the next version of the Vision Pro once they get to that point but right now its not worth the money.
  • @rfrancoi
Great presentation SIr. Are you keeping both? Also, what if you wear prescription glasses?
  • @Sigmicator6947
The quest 3 is better in my opinion. When you talked about the desktop for working I was kinda mad when you didn’t talk about the compatibility the quest 3 has as it is about to connect to both windows and the mac.
  • @borne2race4fun
When I buy a headset today, I'm interested in what I can do with it NOW, what apps are available for it NOW and how much fun I can have with it NOW. With the Visison Pro, I keep hearing "It will definitely be able to do that at some point. At some point you'll get that for the Vision Pro too" Okay, then you can wait until the Vision Pro actually has it and can do it. I don't have to spend a lot of money now and then wait for what I want to come at some point or never. I'd rather buy a Quest 3 for which there is a lot of software and which has so many users that I can actually have fun with it in a community in VR and have social experiences. The Vision Pro, on the other hand, is more of a first-person headset in which you are very much alone, which socially excludes you instead of enabling new social contacts like the Quest 3 can.

My first video on your channel, your voice is perfect for the way you film this. New subscriber earned!
  • I did a Apple Vision Pro demo the other day and I just used the regular band and for the whole 25 or so minutes I not once noticed any discomfort. Are you maybe overtightening it a bit?
