I put my hand into the blanket weed and found a leech!

when it is adult it will leave the water to place it's cocoon on land. The only leech that will suck blood in the UK is Hirudo medicinalis and it is rarely seen. Not sure though if it can be found in the UK; here in the Netherlands it does occur but only in a few places; it is on the red list of endangered species.

@nephthysuk I wish the leeches in my pond had this sort aversion to human blood... In all honesty it doesn't hurt, it just feels really weird, like you have something hanging out of you, instead of onto you. You should check out my newest video on my channel haha.
