I believe that there is a market for these type of simple and yet stylish machines to be sold today, simplicity is the key.

My older brother and I threw a boat load of the Miami Times Herald morning newspapers off one of those back in 1960 - 1963 at the AFB in Puerto Rico. We hung two set of saddlebags off the body and I threw to the right and my brother, who was left handed, threw to the houses on the left. 264 papers every morning for 2.5 years. I've thought many times about picking up one of the new ones to ride around on out here in the country where I live. Our Dad rode the Eagle.

I remember those, from the sixties! Never had one,"of course",but always wanted one, even to this day! LOL!

Pretty sharp! The very first ride on a bike was on a friend's Cushman, it was a step down from this one, same front end but didn't have the sleek tail piece like on this one. It was about a year later I got my own Cushman, a 1958 Cushman Eagle, I got it about 1961.
  • Beautiful bike!! Love the color and the one driving it!! ❤
  • Very nice Cushman! Love that style. I have the similar model with the fiberglass tail piece. Thinking about selling all my Cushman bikes and parts 🤔

Looks great. Late 50's early 60's style that was in. Today no style .

well, by this point ( 1962) the 8 hp M9 engine is running with authority, and the body work is pretty sleek. One only has to watch a video of a 48 pacemaker to see the differences.  The lack of a front brake on most models was not only regrettable, it wasn't very sensible, since the front brake does 70% of the stopping.   This example is sure in fine fettle.
