When we brought together Toby Segar from Storror, and legendary rock climber Johnny Dawes, they created a set of dynamic bouldering problems like we had never seen before.

As a team, Toby Segar and Johnny Dawes tackled five boulders, which gradually become harder and harder, to push their skill, technique and strength to the limit.

You can find the first four boulders in the first part of our parkour series.

In this second part, Toby and Johnny try the final boulder. The route was set by Toby to turn a run and jump style parkour movement into a bouldering probem.

Watch, as Hannah Morris, Toby Segar, Johnny Dawes and Nathan Betts, slowly learn the movement style, and unlock the hardest parkour problem in the gym.

Johnny's mind truly needs to be studied lol. Every time Toby came off the wall, i was like surely Johnny doesn't have another tip, and he does and its more insane than the last

I can only imagine what would happen if the rest of the team, especially callum, was exposed to this man ahahahaha
  • "Two grannies on the train" is f***ing brilliant--a genuinely gorgeous description of a headspace for performance
  • @kavali6320
Big thanks to Hannah to give Toby and Johnny a stage here. It was so interesting to hear their thoughts and watch the interactions. Glad Toby got it in the end.
  • love the fact that toby knew what johny was on about, alot of younger people might think he's just waffeling weird stuff, but he knows what goes into performing at the limit, what you need to do to dial it in. Absolute Legend.
  • @danrkelly
Toby videos curated by Hannah and Nathan are just the most wholesome entertainment. Bravo all!

johnny is 59! not afraid of pushing the body on a session while taking it not seriously, and the joy of the session #life_goals

So glad Toby got it in the end! As a more static climber, it’s great to see people do dynamic stuff and get some tips from them. Even if I don’t know what Johnny Dawes is talking about most of the time 😄

15:28 "New failure... very auspicious." Just beautiful wisdom and insight into a particular way of seeing the process and probably all of life. These two together are "vibe gold" - respect, enjoyment, skill, experience, fun, proper listening - wonderful content.
  • wait the conversation about fear/commitment that lead to "two grannies on the train" was so inspiring... I loved the editing with Toby's attempts +their dynamic conversation. Really really good stuff!
  • @NathanBetts
A big thank you to Toby and Johnny for their time - and their enthusiasm to try out our slightly unusual idea to bring them together to set boulders. If you haven’t seen part one yet, I’d recommend checking it out for more stories, falls, and unexpected moves. We really enjoyed the playful movement, and it turned out as funny as we imagined, credit to Toby and Johnny who were meeting for the first time on the day.

Hoping Toby becomes a regular guest on the channel!

Johnny has such a beautiful and unique way of visualising and manifesting his movement with sound and imagery and metaphor. It’s so inspiring to see such a wildly creative mind and artistic intuition put into a hyper-technical movement sport like climbing, even in the way he moves and experiments with movement is so spontaneous and free. An absolute gem of a guest, and it pairs so brilliantly with the ethos of parkour and Toby’s own approach to moving…thanks for making this happen!!!
  • @TomAnkcorn
I have been waiting for part 2 for so long
  • @Joel-co3xl
You didn't say much in this video Hannah - hope you didn't feel out of place! Very cool video though, love Toby and Johnny certainly has some interesting perspectives
  • @88Spint
Watching toby set his own boulder and fail it tons of times really fits his style :D "This is hard but I think it can be done so let me work on it until I do it" such a badass.

As a certified Old Fart I can remember watching Stone Monkey on a dodgy VHS far too many times. There was an electronic version floating around, but for some reason the footage of the Quarryman didn't have Zappa as the music and it did my head in. Seeing Johnny still bouncing and smiling makes me happy. Thanks Hannah.

Imagine Johnny in his prime in any of the videos with Toby! ❤ As amazing as it is to see him be this good at his age, if we could watch them both climb together in their prime would be amazing!!!!love these videos!!❤

Johnny trully must have Synesthesia its crazy the way he associates, shapes sounds to actions and words. Fascinating
