DON"T ever apologize for getting emotional especially with Pink Floyd songs. Pink Floyd is an experience, a journey. If you do feel emotional, the song hit you right. Been listening for over 50 years and they still get me emotional (yes, I am an emotional Italian).

I'm 65 and I can tell you, this song bites harder with each passing year. "Every year is getting shorter" indeed. But, there's no more beautiful way to express it! Great reaction, as always.

Most people have cried listening to this timeless piece.
  • @chitownlee
The first time (no pun intended) I heard this I was 22 and in two weeks I'll be 74. Everytime I've listened over these 52yrs it's had a different effect on me but the one consistent is getting a tear in my eye and now I get some regret.

You say you’re not in a position in your life to handle these deep meanings, yet you are. Even when you’re young, you never know how much time you have left. So gather that courage, and enjoy every moment and appreciate all you have, and all the people in your life.
  • I recall a story I read one time where a guy said that he had graduated from college, but was just coasting along, delivering pizza, not really caring about anything. One day this song came on the radio and he really heard it for the first time. He started weeping right there and had to pull off the road. The next day he applied to graduate school in an entirely different country, just to completely break out of his pattern. At the time of his writing he had a great career, a fiance, and everything was going good. He credited his entire turnaround to hearing this song, when he was ready to hear it. One of the most powerful songs ever written.

Olavity I was 9 years old when Dark Side of the Moon was released in 1973. Back then, I didn't worry about getting old. Now, I recently turned 60. Now, this song has totally different meaning because I am definitely on short time. But I will continue to live my life to fullest.

I’m 65, and the older I get the more this song impacts me. Never stop getting emotional to this one.

The song isn't about dying, it's about not living. It's a lesson to use your time wisely and get the most out of the most and maybe only precious resource we each own, TIME. Peace/JT
  • These guys were in their early twenties when this song was originally composed - the insight into life is truly amazing

The only thing better then listening to them is to see them surrounded by tens of thousands that feel the same way. I was fortunate to see them when I was a young man and so were they . The 60 s and 70 s were a truly magical time for music . Never to be again .

the time to listen to this is when you're young - BEFORE you've made all the mistakes and squandered your time. it is a cautionary tale and if you absorb it and learn from it you will have a better life. I was 22 when it came out and the absolute wisdom it conveyed was so obvious. this and other great songs of that era had a profound effect on me and helped shaped my life. as a result, I've had a really incredible amazing life - I have few regrets. thank you Pink Floyd for your insight and wisdom.

I am 66 and graduated high school in 1975. That year my life was just starting. I saw Pink Floyd in April 1975 at the Cow Palace south of San Francisco. That concert was the best I have ever attended. They played alone for 4 hours. Entire Dark Side of the Moon album and entire Echoes album and several songs from their new album Wish You Were Here. I still have the comic book program they gave out as you walked in the Arena. I saw them again in May 1977 at the Oakland Coliseum Arena and many rock critics say they were at their best that tour and show I saw. They were incredible. I saw so many great concerts in the 70s and 80s. Led Zeppelin, Crosby Stills Nash & Young, The Rolling Stones, Lynryd Skynryd, Dave Mason, Fleetwood Mac, Robin Trower, Frampton, Tom Petty, The Cars, The Allman Brothers, Journey, The Who, Jethro Tull, Rod Stewart and many more. We who grew up in the 70s were so lucky.

Now I'm 66. And I wonder how wise was Roger Waters, when he was about 30. HE was the author of lyrics.
  • Arguably, in my opinion, one of the best songs ever created. Welcome to the club.
  • @dmstewart66
I hope you're doing ok. This song has brought millions of tears to millions of faces. Just know, you are not alone.
  • Please don’t apologize. Thank you for sharing an honest piece of yourself. That matters. Glad you were touched.
  • @marionetaklemcba
I am 52 and since I was 14 I have been listening to Pink Floyd and even after 38 years they move me and make me cry every time I listen to them, when several days go by without doing it it is like I need it to relax my mind and my body, never apologize for crying for music, feeling emotions is the best thing it gives us. Thanks for reacting to Pink Floyd, greetings from Rio Tercero, CĂłrdoba Argentina!!!
  • @scottberg2374
If Pink Floyd doesn’t stir up emotions in you, then either you’re not hearing it fully or you’re a robot.
