Wimauma strawberry farmer vows to keep fighting easement access battle

  • Goodson was trying to intimidate the other property owners into selling their properties so Goodson could expand his farm.

We've shared our "EASMENT " with our neighbors for 15 years. It's called common sense and decency.

The man locking out his neighbors from the easement is just downright evil. I hope he goes bankrupt and his business flops.
  • Easiest solution is for the reporter to get a copy of Goodson’s deed. They are public and accessible at the county or on the states superior court website.
  • I had the exact same issue. Access cannot be denied. You may have to go to court to get it straightened out. The person blocking easement will pay all court costs when they lose. As the lady said, you cannot landlocked someone from their property. Mr strawberry farmer could very likely lose a few strawberries over this one.

I had a neighbor who couldn't tell which was east or west and thought the easement her title showed was for my land. Called a surveyor court and he had deeds and property plot maps. He said it would be his pleasure to go and explain it to her. He also told me he tends to make lots of people upset when he has to survey property lines. He will find them out a couple of feet sometimes . FYI never heard from her again about it.

He wants to buy their land to expand his farm. That's the only thing that makes sense.

What a total jerk that guy is.he caused the cows to be underweight. Hope karma pays him a visit soon.
  • @tahwnikcufos
Odd that he apparently blocked the easement well into his own property, and not at the adjoining road... why would he leave his adjoining properties split, but block access right at the corner of the next property? This only makes sense, if he's just trying be a jerk. The old growth and fencing alone, kinda negate any logical position he may have to inhibit his neighbor's access to their own properties. And a text message isn't a binding document in any court... did he hire Amber's legal team?
  • There are more important things in life than fighting with your neighbors and cows over an easement. They have used it for 5 years. What is he going to do? Plant strawberries on that small strip? Let it go dude and put your energy into something more important..like family or church or your community.

It would appear that one is going to be visiting Ricky's dingleberry farm anytime soon. cows: 1 ricky: 0

One possible tell tale sign of an easement is the utility lines running across the property. Just observing.

It would be a shame if Goodson Farms got a whole bunch of negative reviews on Yelp, Trip Advisor and Google Reviews because of this.
  • @zomfragger
Umm I'm not advocating for the farmer but when the people that are accusing you of wrong doing have legal documents to back their claim and all you have is a text message. You might want to settle.
  • An easement is legally binding and has been a part of property rights laws for decades if not over a century.

I will never buy strawberries that come from this man’s farm!
  • @69dblcab
Thanks for following up. Keep doing what you are doing Shannon.
  • Fred- Hey Norm, I heard "strawberry " fell down and hit his head on a rock several times. Norm- Yep.
  • @quienvive675
I guess Ricky just decided not to be a "Good Son" and just became a rude son instead. Maybe he should just enjoy some of his strawberries 🍓 and have a good time instead.
