What topics do you want Kim Jung Gi to cover in the future?
  • @olianims
I swear to God this man has blender installed in his brain
  • RIP Kim Jung Gi. Best artist of today and all times to come!
  • @codyrbj
Dont get me wrong, i appreciate the effort of the translator, but i think that is better to have some proper subtitles to hear Kim while he talks

Says "We don't have to draw with 100% perfection or detail" ... then draws with 100% perfection and detail.

Kim Jung Gi is and always will be one of the grandmasters of the art world. such a intuitive and understanding teacher.

I always have a feeling Kim Jung Gi is just too good for me to learn anything from what he teaches if that makes sense. How should I explain it... Imagine a great martial arts master. He's trying to teach you a new technique but when he shows it to you, you just see him closing in to you and the next thing you know is that you're lying on the ground with no idea what the heck has just happened. It's the same problem here - he's trying to move step by step but his step is larger than the longest of your leaps and he doesn't know how to make smaller ones.

nah.... this guy was one of a kind. I don't think there was or will be anyone like this man. RIP TRUE MASTER.

Kinda frustrating to see this dude drawing without perspective line, but also I love how he teach. And his advice are pretty useful and I managed to improve my drawing thanks to that.

I am in the process of learning Korean, good thing this is translated

This mastery shows us why humans are beautifull!
  • @NateRock119
This is probably the best advice on drawing I’ve ever saw I have many MANY books watched videos from all languages and bought courses and if you take what he says word from word with the visual example you will see this should be placed in a book
  • ❤️ thanks for the translation, now I can put attention on what he is drawing

It's sorta kinda nice seeing his lines looking squiggly and rough. I guess he's just human after all. but then again, dude has computer brain and probably he has like a personal Heads Up Display that shows him perspective lines and references.

Truly the best artist that ever lived, the way he draw was like magic
  • This video is fantastic for me since it reveals a comparison of methods such as using facial perspective lines that most artists use initially and highlights the value of a continuity of perspective since Kim visualizes as well as uses eyebrow lines as a keystone. This is the method I used to do; visualizing the head/skull for scale and setting the eyebrow line eyes and nose as a perspective keystone. It is also comforting to know that Kim has avoided drawing an element he didn't feel satisfied with, like the hair and could look at many of his past drawings that were either bald or had helmets on. It is a minor negative in technique perhaps, or oversight but is a major positive in terms of the complexity of design of his helmets and the character elements of his bald characters. I always feel like I am cheating when I turn fists into boxing gloves or hide hands behind a character's back, but I retain confidence that I will gain the skill eventually.

    i love these videos !! 😊😊😊

Not only does this man have great skill, but I'm convinced that he has a photographic memory.
