lyrics

we, we wanna swim the deepest depths of oblivion
we wanna know that the gods have us in control
we see the cards and we go to fold
we play along but it soon grows old
they took the ark and sold it all for parts
they’ve got a fist full of fucking gold
a return on the souls they sold
do you remember who we are?
these tyrants will build an abyss
but the rest of us wish to exist
we’re hiding like a shadow in the dark
in the dark
be the change that you wanna see
no not like that
it’s a risk we can all agree
fuck the fucking facts
but it bleeds right in front of me
we’re under attack
yeah, we all know that these rights are holy
we’re never gonna leave this shell
let’s hope your gold don’t fail you now
save us a special place in hell
you’re the reason that our hearts ache
deep fake
we are one and the fucking same
we see the cards and we go to fold
we play along but it soon grows old
we took the ark and sold it all for parts
they’ve got a fist full of fucking gold
a return on the souls they sold
do you remember who we are?
these tyrants will build an abyss
but the rest of us wish to exist
we’re fighting with a shadow in the dark
deep fake

  • I LOVE the dual vocals between Sam & Josh in the second verse. I’ve been waiting so long for this! Incredible
  • @rad.yall27
I just love whatever Architects is doing with their music.
  • @Odysseus2415
They're sound has never been consistent. Go through their discography and they've always been changing They're sound. They're like the linkin park of metalcore. You win some fans and lose some. That's life. Keep it up guys.
  • @Kthxbye988
Rip Grandma, this song came out the day you passed, and it will always remind me of you.
  • I am definitely a fan of the older style. All Our Gods and Holy Hell are two of the best albums I've ever heard. This new style is growing on me tho.
  • @HavokYT
Can't wait for this album 🔥
  • @itLEAKED
Thank you for having the balls to be yourselves, and continue to make music that is honest and real.
  • A solid, catchy track! I love the lyrical references to their older music. 'A return on the souls they sold' being taken from the lyrics to Nihilist and 'But some of us wish to exist' as a reference to the last album's title. I really enjoy how their lyrics echo throughout their career, it makes it feel like one continuous vision and story. I can't wait to hear the rest of the new record!
  • @JustennWolfe
Sam has such a unique voice idc that he is singing more. Sure I’m more of a fan of their older shit but after their colorful and amazing discography they don’t have shit to prove to me. They’ll be heavy when they want to be. Great song regardless.
  • I really really like this one. LOVE that breakdown, love that upwards shift in the chorus. Just overall really really enjoyable.
  • @k.2768
The producer absolutely nailed this song. Don’t get me wrong , good band , good song but the Ingenieur made this song bigger than it is I guess. In an absolute positive way
  • Im livin for 2:00 onwards AGHHHH and thank you for the heavy black eyeshadow, Love when singers where it!
  • @PepegaPotato
Die hard fans should understand that nothing can stay the same forever , I absolutely LOVE this new sound and that was an amazing song that will get stuck in my head for sure , because that's what Architects do . Can't wait for more !!
  • He basically abandoned screaming all together. I have no issue with him singing all, but his screams and scream singing were huge aspects of why I fell in love with this band.
  • Loving the newer architects. The old stuff will always be sacred, but they do this style so well.
  • Have a 17yr old teenager running around with goosebumps saying best song since Naysayer...lost count how many times I've heard it since release via his speakers ...Can't wait for new album xxxx
