It was the loudest sound ever recorded underwater, and its audio profile seemed to match an animal call... What could it be?

Unbelievable that as much as 95 percent of the world's oceans and 99 percent of the ocean floor are unexplored....

My cousin rides in a submarine a lot in the navy, and he says it’s scary as hell being underneath the ocean.

Y’all don’t understand how actually creepy this is when you think about the fact that this unusual and very loud underwater sound came from a place in the ocean called Point Nemo, which is dubbed as the most isolated place on earth, 1,000 miles away from any civilization and is DEVOID OF MARINE LIFE because it’s a subtropical gyre, meaning the currents force out any nutrients. Point Nemo is where spaceships and satellites get dumped. The only organisms that can survive there are basically a bunch of microorganisms and bacteria. So, the fact that “the bloop” originated from Point Nemo, even though there is no marine life, is hella freaky tbh.

Though deep sea ice is probably the most reasonable and realistic, I think the fact that sounds like this aren't a common occurrence in that area is pretty telling.
  • After seeing some other videos depicting this & other mysterious oceanic sounds, I must say: I love the way this video is presented. The creator allows the viewer to do the thinking. And, there's no weird voices or gimmicks. This is essentially pure science. I love it! Thank you
