  • One of my all time favorite games and my favorite rpg. Nice review. You had an open mind and also knowledge of the series and games overall. Seen some reviews that I can really take seriously. Too much hate and complaints. Sincerly thank you for this short but deep review. Made my day.

Seeing this review all these positive comments is such a relief to me. When I played this game, it had just come out. Like, many others, I thought it was way too hard. However, I didn't put it down and learned the battle system and the way to link abilities, position myself for correct aggro, etc. I ended up beating this game after about a year, and boy was it worth it. So, anyone looking to try this game, be patient, the story is definitely worth it and it's extremely fun when you learn it.

I love this game, I played it as a kid, I have recently gone back to the game and i finished it the first time through. Everything is this game is epic, The combat system is amazing and it requires skill to master, Its great to know that someone else can see the game for what it is

I remember when this game first came out and I hated it thinking it ws way too hard for its own good but kept it regardless so I had all 5 games, I've came back to it recently and I admit I judged it prematurely, having played lots of rpgs you cannot approach this game like most others once you get your head around how to play the game it becomes a totally unique experience, it really has matured well over the past 11 years and way ahead of its time. its a shame it never got given a fair chance

I have to say, I like the first four BoF games, but this one is in a league of it's own. I really think it's the most underrated JRPG of the PS2. I'd rank it among the top 10 tbh. If you're not very good at JRPGs I can understand why this game would be so hard as to be unbearable, but as a veteran myself I only really died once in the beginning when I was still learning the mechanics, but after that, though still challenging, I managed to beat the game in one try. You just gotta strategize.
