As someone who grew up on a greek, specifically Cretan diet, this is to entertaining to watch! You don't crave certain 'unhealthy' foods if you are not used to it, so it's easy to feel full and satisfied on a very natural diet. In crete I ate a lot of baked stuffed vegetables, like tomatoes or Zucchini flower, there is always a greek or cretan salad on the table, potato dishes are a very big part of my diet, for example briam/bureki, or just simple oven potatoes with lemon and herbs. Good quality olive oil and herbs are so important to make all these dishes taste amazing. Fruit or greek yoghurt with honey and fruit are my normal snacks, especially in the summer when it's really hot. It's easy to eat like that because the ingredients are easy to get and not very expensive. I think what also makes meals more satisfying is, that there are always a few dishes on the table, or at least a main dish and a salad with dakos/bread
  • Yooo the headache, the "soft" look in your physique and sweet cravings were all from the stark drop in carbs. You were eating lots of great carb sources but if you had tracked you were probably only intaking half of what you're used to . Carbs hold water so when you lose carbs you lose intracellular water. This was a great experimen, loved watching!

that grapefruit is called a pomelo and its meant to be that big, its easier if you make a small incision and then tear the skin off with your hands, then you take a section of the inside it should peel off and just dont eat the white stuff its rough and bitter

I live in Sardinia, a blue zone. We don"t eat just 1 ingredient things! But yes, our diet is traditionally pretty simple (and sooo cheap): bread, or biscuits and milk in the morning, pasta for lunch (yes, almost everyday) with veggies and some kind of protein, we snack with yogurt, fruit, Or some bread, and for dinner mostly veggies, rice, pasta (😂) and legumes or meat/fish. And a LOT of raw extra virgin olive oil.
  • Will, I'm disappointed you don't know how to spice things! Here's a few for you: - Lime and black pepper - Lime, cumin, chili, salt - Tumeric, coriander, salt, black pepper, chili - Cilantro & lime Throw that on anything and it'll be 🎉🎉🎉

If you want to get 4x as much food for the same price as Whole Foods, buy it at Costco. Costco is the largest retailer of organic food in the US.
  • Snacks: popcorn you pop at home, roasted chickpeas (you just add seasoning and oil), carrots and Greek yogurt with ranch seasoning, air fry some sweet potatoes or potatoes for fries, cottage cheese, clementines. I feel like those are pretty natural/minimally processed snacks. Edit: some gas stations carry hard boiled eggs! Those are a lifesaver for me on trips. That and cheese sticks. (Might not be “clean” enough for this experiment.)

You can make mayo with very simple natural ingredients. Egg, oil, mustard seeds or organic dijon mustard, vinegar(natural kinds), and some salt n pepper. Add garlic, shallots, lemon juice and you get a good salad dressing.
  • The expression Will had on his face when he ate the almond butter banana boat was pure bliss and that is what we live for - the food induced nirvana.
  • @mimiraiinboow
20:22, if you crave icecream you can put frozen bananas in a mixer and top it with the almond butter and maybe some coconut chips

I loved this video! I’ve changed my diet to something similar, but I still have yogurt, cheese, etc.. and I’ve felt like you throughout this video, long therm it has me feeling fantastic, plus my sleep has been great. Thank you for your videos

Things like energy drinks, protein bars, pre-made frozen meals & pre-made snacks, any take-out, and drinks (sodas, juices, coffee drinks, etc) are all the no-no's of the highly processed foods. But eggs are still a whole food even if you get the cheaper ones. Herbs & spices go a long way in making everything taste better--I eat plenty of hot sauce. Dried fruit is a great snack, and good addition to salads and home-made granola. Quality aged cheese is another great addition. Try Walmart's specialty cheese section for good prices on European aged cheddars. Everything you were doing was great, but I would just add more! Like a light dessert (like dark chocolate) or fruit after dinner so you feel more satisfied. Your headaches and low energy were likely from your blood sugar dipping if you're used to consuming more sugar & carbs. You would acclimate to that. Also make sure you're adding enough salt to your food so your blood pressure doesn't dip. I'm a first time viewer! Nice vid 👌

the other blue zones don't eat all unprocessed. you can have yogurts, alcohol in moderation, cheeses, as well as a ton of fruits and veggies.
  • @archaeobard1
If you want a snack, just have some almonds, walnuts, and dried apricots or dried cranberries or dried mango. Chuck in some sunflower seeds. Done
