Rat/Mouse Brain Hybrid Created: New CRISPR Method for Cross-Species Chimeras

Scientists grew a hybrid mouse with rat brain cells, using genetic modification and stem cells from a rat. Their new method for creating chimeras, based on CRISPR, could open the door to growing humanized organs in animals for transplantation into humans.

Note: Rat and mouse cortex is not wrinkly like human cortex. It is pretty smooth, as shown at 7:06.
