Romans 5 WOW! 📖 to know we can rejoice when we run into problems and trials in our lives. The storms are not easy, but they’re good for us so awesome to know that we are where we are and He is strengthen us and to have confidence through our difficulties. 🙌🕊️ Thank You ❤ beautiful teaching !! 📖 🙌❤️🕊️

On Sunday we had a sermon on God's love and my pastor pointed out that he and none of us would likely not sacrifice our son (or daughter) for anyone. We would maybe sacrifice ourself but not our child BUT God in His love did just that by sacrificing Jesus for us. Seems like a fitting comment for todays reading. ALSO, in my devotional this morning there was a quote from Samuel Shoemake - "Eternal life does not begin with death; it begins with faith." Food for thought!

Romans 5:1–11 describes the amazing benefits that come with being declared righteous before God by faith in Christ's death for our sin. God has made peace with us. We stand in His grace, and we rejoice in the sure hope that we will share in His glory. Our suffering brings growth, which leads to even more potent hope. God has proven His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. We are saved from God's wrath and reconciled to God in Christ.

I want to share the NIV translation of verse 5, “And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out His love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom He has given us.” Poured out hits different. He freely expressed His love. My NIV study Bible says “Adam is the counterpart of Christ. Just as Adam was a representative of created humanity, so is Christ the representative of a new spiritual humanity.”

Christ, on the other had made a different choice. Instead of disobeying, as Adam had done, He obeyed. Adam's choice brought sin and death to many millions of people, while Jesus' choice brought the opportunity for escape from sin and death by the free gift of God's grace to everyone who believes. Adam's choice brought condemnation; Jesus' act brought justification (Romans 5:15–19).
