Where To Donate To Help Asian Communities 2021 - nymag.com/strategist/article/where-to-donate-to-he…

Hello, this is Mick.
Recently I conducted a social experiment to see what sort of racism Asians in America suffer from.
As an Asian, as an influencer, and as a video creator I felt like I should do something and after searching for something I can do to make a difference under the current circumstances, I decided on this project.

Everyone, racism against Asians is happening all over the world and recently the situation seems to have been getting worse.
On March 16th, six Asian women were shot dead in Atlanta, the capital of Georgia, in the southern United States.
These people were killed but shootings happen every day, how does it affect me?
"Our silence is complicity," Biden said.
So, what do we have to do?
I don’t want to turn my back on my Asian brothers and sisters.
At the very least, I want to take action to make more people aware of this.
If you feel bad for people suffering from racism, I believe you have a moral responsibility to help them.

I will never forget; I will do what I can.
I hope you will all never forget this incident either.
I sincerely hope that this video helps you feel something.

At the same time, I want to recognize that there is a lot of discrimination in Japan as well.
If anyone around you is being discriminated against, please, please reach out.
I hate to even think about it, but I also experienced a lot of discrimination in Japan when I was a child.
"Because I'm Korean." "Because my nationality is different." "Because different blood is flowing in my veins."
Wrong. I'm Asian and I'm a human being.
There is a lot we can do, please take action beyond just feeling bad.

Now is the time to get up.
Act if you feel.

Mick Kim.

"Don't listen to that guy ", "I'm glad you're here" ..that made me tear up

That guy who said “I’m glad you’re here” made me cry a bit cus those word send to a person could mean a lot.
  • That dude at 4:03 who walked him away and had a respectful manner even after what the actor said was so impressive. Physically putting himself between the two and walking him away in a non aggressive way, asking his name and engaging him in a dialogue has a massive impact and you can see the actor is flummoxed especially when he tells him look we are all people and I respect you. The rest did good in easing the tension temporarily like the candy lady who tried to make the victim feel better. But that guy's response to the aggressor is how minds are changed. He will do great things, he is born leader.

That guy who went “hey hey hey..not cool” has my heart

The girl made me cry with a lot of love, she was able to reassure both of us, she is an angel, and the boy who spoke with the man is a complete gentleman. people like them don't make me lose faith in humanity
  • I live in Australia and this happens to me almost every week. The difference is that no one ever helped me. I have been ignored, screamed at and assaulted for being Asian. Even when it took place in broad daylight, on a busy street in one of the major cities here, no one cared. They just walked on and pretended they didn't see it. I try to avoid going out these days because of this. It really is detrimental to your mental health when people constantly remind you that you don't belong and you should "f off to your country". I am so touched to see these amazing people who stood up for him. They are really the best! It's so great to see more of the good side of humanity. It really gives me hope and I just wish there were more people like them in this world.

you can tell the girl selling candy is the sweetest most kindest soul ever...the way she was telling the actor playing the bad guy “i hope you have a better day” and then hugging the other guy

The “I go to McDonald’s every day” guy was the master at de-escalation. Immediately put himself between “Mick” and the racist dude, derailed the hateful conversation, asked racist dude his name and brought it back to a personal conversation, all while moving him away from Mick. 1,000 points for McDonald’s guy.

This guy is Korean, his name is Kwangsoo, but in this video he pretends to be Japanese. In another video, he explained that he received a lot of discrimination in Japan when he was a child for being Korean. He said he wanted to make this video to unite Asians that they face the same problems when they go abroad no matter where they come from. All I can say is the world would be a much better place if everyone stopped judging others and started looking inward more... Why can't there be more people like the girl in the video?

That guy who said "Not cool" to the man who was saying racist comments is a great guy. He will make a great leader. He came to the defense of the Japanese student without escalating the situation.
  • @gia9551
That poor girl who was just trying to do her job. I was worried she wasn’t really going to react but after the actor guy left and she broke down I could tell she was just really nervous and scared of him and just wanted to avoid making him mad

Thank you for making this video bro! I am in immigrant from Central Asia who lives in Western Pennsylvania and have had many issues with this since 2020. Its been really hard to do basic things like taking public transportation or go grocery shopping without people looking at me weird and trying to start fights and being racist. Seeing good people who stand up for us and do the right thing makes me feel a little better about America. I wish we had more people like them who accept us for who we are and not put labels on us. We are just people like them who are doing their bests to succeed in the land of opportunity. I wish you all the luck with your channel! Keep up the great work!
  • Glad to see so many good people on this planet. Hope this restores our faith in humanity!
  • Bro the guy that said “hey hey not cool” has major respect. He was able to defend Mick while also conversing/explaining to the actor.
  • @apocryphal0977
Can we take a moment to appreciate the acting of this actor. It take courage to play the role of the bad guy in public
  • @mirrarae
I love the time stamp at 7:53 because you can't say those type of demeaning phrases around black people. We're used to being subject to the same type of dishonorable things you're saying to another race. So immediately we take offense. Which is why I was so proud to see that man be defensive of Mick to help him and to show nobody should be submissive to that type of deplorable behavior. 💜👏
  • 1:57 "don't listen to that guy, he's full of crap. i'm glad you're here." brooo that's literally so wholesome- 🥺

"don't listen to him, he's full of crap. I'm glad you're here" "you wanna hug?" oh dam, who put onions here 🥺
