  • Whether you like GW games or not, I can highly recommend trying these awesome games. 🤪 Which game would you recommend?
  • @Kazdok
It warms my soul to see someone else who is fond of D&D 4E! Great video and great attitude!
  • @CesarIsaacPerez
After Age of Sigmar my favorite game is Frostgrave. I've been playing those 2 games for the last 5 years and they are still my favorites. Rangers of Shadows deep is also an excellent solo/co-op game by the same author of Frostgrave and he recently released Stargrave. I've also enjoyed Relic Blade and Ragnarok: Heavy Metal combat. I'm excited for the release of 5 Parsecs From Home!
  • @SootyWebster
"Five parsecs from home" if you're locked down and solo. Rangers of shadowdeep or frostgrave too!
  • @kettleonsonna
Wholesome, good advice. All good recommendations. Agree with the people saying Frostgrave/Stargrave. Zombicide is the perfect mechanic for solo play. Gaslands is great too. Got Last Days but never got it to the table.
  • @pauls3585
I would add Frostgrave and Rangers of Shadows Deep
  • @Luchiop
The Fantasy Trip (Melee & Wizard) is my favorite skimish system, especially if the players don´t play often or never played before.
  • @Rajja29
Love your list. Some I like that you didn't mention are Elder Scrolls: A Call to Arms, Zona Alfa, Five Parsec from Home, A Billion Suns, Stargrave, Frostgrave, Rangers of Shadowdeep. The Walking Dead: All out War, and Battletech
  • @xkriegor
Not really skirmish scale, but I'd recommend Star Wars: Legion if you want something kinda similar to 40k but with a more streamlined rule. It's really intuitive, easy to pick up, have some cool and interesting mechanics plus it's cheaper than 40k to pick up.
  • @dragonfist
Infinity CodeOne is by far my new fav game, it is awesome to be able to react in other player's turn
  • On 25 min you said the right thing. Instead of focusing on how bad GW is, focus on how good the small creators are and support them. And honestly I don't think GW is bad, but there is tons of talent out there. We only thought GW was the best only because it was the only thing out there really.
  • @ajking4836
Great to see some love shared across companies. I really like Northumbrian Tin soldier
  • @amata415
Awesome! I want to expand wargaming collection.
  • @Jaccayumitty
Gaslands is great fun, rules are simple to learn but have a bit of depth, it's one of the more popular games at my gaming club and always produces at lot of laughs. It's not one to get too competitive with, just enjoy the carnage and mayhem. And it makes a change from the greed of GW - £13 for the rulebook is all you pay. Templates are in the rulebook for you to freely copy, or you can buy from third-party sellers, anyone can make them as they're royalty free. The cars are just any hotwheels cars you happen to have sitting around, you can modify them if you want to make them a bit more Mad Max, and you can use bits from the spares box for weapons etc. Recommend it.
  • @wayward-saint
Those Northumbrian Tinsoldier minis are truly fantastic. So much character.
  • @johnsteidl293
Thanks for this! Had never heard of Burrows and Badgers. Couple I didn't see here or on your channel: Relicblade and Kings War: Vanguard for fantasy. Rangers of Shadow Deep is a solo campaign version of the Frostgrave rules. For designed-as-solo, Five Parsecs from Home is really brilliant. The skirmish rules are a light/tight core for what is really more of a solo RPG campaign engine. For solo fantasy there is Five Leagues from the Borderlands, and both of these are mini agnostic. Comparing Shadow Deep to the Five Parsecs/Leagues system for solo folks: SD is much more guided while 5P/L is more procedural. So you don't have to do as much creative work with SD, but it's more limited in scope/replay. 5P/L is pretty limitless in terms of where the campaigns can take you, but you need to do a little more work in creating your own story to match what the campaign engine is throwing at you. Cheers
  • @Chopperkelly73
Nicely done, some great games in there. I love Burrows and Badgers, it was the first skirmish game I picked up when I returned to the hobby. Bumped into the Oathsworn stand at the UKGE and accidentally spent a fortune! I’m currently painting minis for Stargrave and Dead Mans Hand, both small scale skirmish games.
  • @1rnw792
In terms of amazing value, I'd love to get my hands on CMONs HATE, don't think you can get it in the UK? You get like almost like a 100+ amazingly detailed norseman models, as well as a really cool board game. Another suggestion, which I haven't tried myself, is warlord games' SPQR. It focuses on warband combat in the ancient world, the starter box is like £30ish and you get like 70+ models.
