Vinland Saga covers a LOT of different topics. From revenge to loneliness, anger to emptiness. Thorfinn goes through a lot.

Episodes 8 and 9 are a real turning point in season 2, covering Thorfinn's most major development, as he learns he "has no enemies" and finds himself no longer an empty man, having come a long way from his "nothing good has ever happened to me" scene.

  • What happened to the audio at the end - Unforunately I got a random copyright claim a few hours AFTER uploading, this is VERY frustrating as the song was supposedly copyright free so I do feel slightly scammed tbh as they've claimed all ad revenue on this video since its release. That's the first time i've had this happen before, and unfortunately at that point there are only 3 options: 1) Reupload/take down the video 2) Mute all sound for that part of the video 3) Use Youtube's new "Replace copyrighted song only" feature which is still in BETA And yeah... it's pretty clear why it's in BETA... Apologies for that, will not be re-using that person's music in future.

"There is no light for those who do not know darkness." -- Vagabond This is why the farm arc is important. It's about starting fresh. It's about creating a new chapter and allowing yourself to cultivate a meaningful life.

I can honestly say that I am happy to have come across this channel. Thank you for this gift mate! 🤜🏿
  • Man, I needed that last point you made. I legit thought something was wrong with me because I just got out of a dead-end job that I was stuck in for years for this amazing opportunity. And I was grateful, but not happy I guess. I was glad, but it was a surprisingly quiet gladness

Your channel makes me feel like I'm talking to an old friend, just chill and sharing thoughts. Thank you for uploading, Vinland Saga hit me really hard, I was such in a dark place when I first saw it and the "nothing good ever happened in my life" touched my soul. I'm glad I found someone who appreciated it as me.
  • I loved that scene where Hebi (snake) takes a mad swing at Thorfinn and Thorfinns own body proves that he does value himself.

I have something to say about ‘accepting the emptiness after success’. There’s a reason why we expect something more, and just as Makima states in chainsaw man, events can be more memorable and significant if there is first an emotional attachment with the thing your engaging with, (that’s the essence of what she said, not word for word).
  • This video resonates with me. I felt empty after a break with my longtime partner. I put my efforts into improving myself, physically and mentally, and creating goals to reach for. That gave me something to strive for and fill the void. Great tip about accepting that there will be unexplainable times when we won't feel great, even when we're doing the right things like exercising or striving for better things. It's just a natural part of life.
  • About 10 months ago, I had one of those moments of pure emptiness. My wife and sons left for a trip, but I had to stay back for work. I spent so much time caring for them that when I was alone, I realized how empty I was. I was not giving them the best me because of this emptiness. I had demons to fight from my time in the military, was not happy with what I was doing with my life, and had no direction. I decided to leave the comfort zone, pick up a journal, and figure out my purpose! I’m so much happier and fulfilled these days. And now, I can give my family the best me. Great video as always my friend. Vinland Saga is a hosted anime!
  • When emptiness meets nihilism is when this doesn't apply anymore. There exists nothing in this world to fill the emptiness and it just is what it is. Anything that may seem like it could actually work is just a false hope that'll be taken away soon enough.

I find myself watching these videos whenever I am struggling. Another voice to balance out the one that tells me that nothing good will ever happen to me again. I find that if i have to fight that voice every day, if i don't it threatens to consume me. Thank you 🙏🏿 🙂

  • @drewwastaken
Feels like I'm watching a channel with millions of sub. Quality content brother.
  • I'm glad i stumbled across this channel. I'm an anonymous struggling student that feels like everything has been overbearing and I don't see why I should continue. The same empty feeling that thorfinn has experienced, although. Not to his degree, lives within me. Everyday I'm just praying that I get on to the next, and the next, and the next. Thorfinn inspired me not to trust in myself at this moment, but to trust my future self that things will be okay. And this thought pushed me to look forward to the next day, lost my suicidal thoughts, and invested in my future that I will be a respectable man

This is a powerful message. The empitness after a big event. Yess I can totaly relate to this. For me, I keep making the next goal to keep me pushing myself. I am not sure if this is healthy or not, but at least when I aim for something bigger. I have the motivation and something that I look forward to.
  • @shuuuyt
this is exactly what i am experiencing right now . thank you so much for this video
  • @lapisstories
Vinland Saga has taught me great lessons in life and to become a better person. Great video!
  • One thing I keep seeing a lot of in the comments regarding the last point that I thought I'd clarify: You shouldn't be feeling that way EVERY time you achieve something - you're probably working towards the wrong things if so. Just to say it can happen sometimes, and that it's not that you've done anything wrong if so
  • I found your channel and gotta say thank you for these powerful uplifting videos 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
