I-35 in Greater Austin from FM 1431 in Round Rock to Slaughter Lane in South Austin, filmed in the early morning because that is basically the only traffic-free time along this route.

over the course of 20+ years, how many hundreds of times I have made this exact trip. very interesting video man. thanks for posting, even though I found it 6 years after it's upload 😎

There are plans to put a large part of I-35 underground near the downtown area - basically inside a tunnel with a park above ground.

Beautiful. The early morning light makes the whole atmosphere much more pleasant.

One of my favorite videos of yours. We stayed in Austin at the Courtyard Mariott on Parmer (you can see it on the right at 2:43) and didn't get to explore much. Pretty cool city from what I've seen.

Thanks for the nice video. What I don't understand is that in the Houston and Dallas metros, freeways expansions (and new freeways) occur at a rapid pace, while in Austin things happen at a snail's pace. Must have something to do with TXDOT's priorities, which I haven't figured out. All of Austin's freeways are a nightmare, especially I-35 and Mopac.

Almost a million people?! Was that figure even 1/3 of that 15-25 years ago???
  • @InterstateKS
If you have the chance, it would be interesting if you did SH-130 on the southern two segments.

Austin, TX with the tallest interchange in the world?? I can't manage to find any information on that
  • @nasifulhuda31
I think that Austin would eventually need to have more interstates that go to Downtown Austin or around the city of Austin. There are routes, but they might have to evolve to interstates to accommodate more people in the Austin metro area.
  • I hope you don't mind me requesting but could you do the interchange between I-35E 35W
