Dozens of homes in the Channelview area were underwater while the San Jacinto River had already crested and hit its peak.

  • The high water is bad enough, but just imagine what that water is contaminated with.

I live in central Texas now. Home prices in this area are high because of those idiots chip and Joanna Gaines. Before moving here I lived in Northwest Houston. Did my research and saw that elevation was real low in surrounding areas. Decided to bail out and not risk buying a home there only to have it flood. Homes are cheaper in Houston area though. Just not worth the headache in my opinion.

You basically built your house in a dried up bayou river 🤷🏽‍♀️
  • The woman said she wouldn't have moved down here if she knew it was this bad. I wonder where she is from and if that place has no television, because Houston is notorious for this kind of flooding.

I am not getting why this part is flooded? it is almost ocean and water should be passing through very easy. but it seems that someone decided to limit waterway under I-10 bridge. Why did they do it? build new support for bridge and let open this waterway.

That's near monmouth street. The blue building is a bar right on the river
  • We need to bring in hurricane katrina trailers and that will help and that was from Fema after Hurricane Katrina. How much do you want to bet that they will not think to bring in katrina trailers?

That’s weird that the homes are built on stilts,it’s almost like they know it floods in the area. SMH
  • San jac river authority is negligent. So many residents sent them emails with concerns to the PREDICTED weather reports. Asking if they would start releasing water a week earlier.

Maybe it’s time to start listening to the climate, scientists, instead of the realtors?
