I used to work in a convenience store and we would put out winning numbers slips for people to check their numbers. One day an elderly gentleman came in thinking he won and wouldn’t believe me that it was just an information slip. I printed off the same exact slip and handed to him. He walked out staring at both tickets. I wonder if he thought he won twice. Don’t let the clerk check your tickets. There are a lot of stories of them stealing from winners. The lottery actually sends out agents with winning tickets to see if the clerk is honest.
