For those worried that Ashley thought this is KPOP when she said "it's a KPOP challenge", she was talking about a BTS dance challenge that Jeff/Jake previously promised for a like goal. She knows SB19 is PPOP. Just wanted to clarify that since I see some comments on it!
  • Hi~ here are some few notes here since the song have a lot of Filipino references: 1. Pablo cooking scene - The ingredients in the pot he's cooking are for the Filipino dish called "nilaga", this is reference to PH proverb, "Pag may tiyaga, may nilaga" which means "hard work has its rewards" 2. Stell shower scene - In PH since the weather is very hot here our body produces this "sour" smell in the armpit (that's why we always use deo) so people who don't take care of their hygiene here are called "maasim" literally "sour" *and when we are kids that plays a lot outside adults will say that we have "KILI-KILI (underarm) POWER" that's why Stell said that he feels the "power". So what it probably mean is no matter how sweaty and sour he smell after all the hardwork he did all day the haters are more "sour" than him/them. 3. Josh rap part - He said that he will not swallow a stone because he's not Darna, Darna is a PH Icon Comics hero, she swallows a "stone" before she transform to her Darna form, so what he's saying is he's no superhero - He said that he's his own mechanic and don't need "Moniko", this is reference to a PH tongue twister: "Minikaniko ni Moniko, ang makina ni Monika" which translate to "Moniko fixed Monika's engine" so he's saying that he doesn't need anyone's help to build himself 4. Justin switch with the dog - This is reference to Filipino term "dogshow" used when you are clowning/making fun of something/someone. It can either be you're making fun of another person or you're making fun of yourself. It's "dogshow" because on literal dog shows, the dogs are being displayed to the public to make "tricks" who else does "tricks"?---- Clowns. 5. SB19 no eyebrows scene - If you raised your eyebrows on someone, you're judging them, right? Or being mean to them. On the MV the lyrics says to burn their brows. In PH there is this saying when you are studying hard, "nagsusunog ng kilay" which means burning their brows because their faces are buried on the book. So they're probably saying that instead of raising your eye brows on someone (judge them) why don't u just burn your brows (study) because the haters are basically dumb. ADDITIONAL EXPLANATION OF "BURNING EYEBROWS" BY JUFEL B ON THE COMMENTS: ---- "For the "nagsusunog nang Kilay" , I got this explaination from my grandmother before. During, early and mid 90s, people in the Philippines mostly used "gasera" (kingki in Ilonggo) or lamps. Sometimes, they use candles if they can afford it. Students who stay up late to study literally burn their eyebrows since they sometimes get near the fire of the lamp." EXTRA: Not a Filipino reference but at the end, the alien scene, they're actually mocking their Alab MV. (watch alab mv again and focus on the last part) This is because during that time they are fully managed by their Korean management SBT which made them do things they don't want to do as a group. In Alab MV, for example, they are promoted as "PPOP" to the public at that time they went viral but the MV literally starts and ended with someone speaking in Korean so PH netizens bashed SB19 about being a KPOP wanna be, no originality, and having no Filipino roots in their music. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR APPRECIATING THEIR MUSIC~ ******* EDIT: Hello hahaha thank u for A'TIN who appreciate how I break down the MV and for those who are asking bakit walang Ken part or di inexplain yung iba like Mephisto and stuff... kasi po I only discussed about "FILIPINO REFERENCES" hehe yung mga bagay ba na tayong mga Pinoy lang makakagets, ganon po. Kasi yung meaning ng sa part ni Ken it can be interpreted kahit foreigner ka since it's literally about Kobe Bryant, his 24 number on Jersey and his famous mamba mentality: "To be able to constantly try to be the best version of yourself." Sooooo yeah hahaha but I'll try to add those parts and add it here XD Thank you po ulit~ *****************P.S. You can copy and paste this on other reactors comment section just give me proper credits at the end like: "EXPLANATION BY: ANGELIQUE JOYCE FLORES" GANON HAHAHHAHAH keri na yun XD
  • This MV is a satire, they showcased their humour, visuals and talent! Sooo many Filipino Elements! 💙💙💙💙💙🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 thank you for this RV. Please check out their I Want You MV! ❤
  • My opinion for the GENTO last scene with Aliens: In General, people love gold, it signifies that something/someone is highly valuable. May it jewelry, talent, people, time, and music (to name a few). The golden talents of Mahalima burried in the sand are yet to be discovered by the “Aliens”- people who are not yet in SB19’s Zone, especially those are overseas. If only those Aliens would look into the deffirent side of that formicarium, they would discover the hidden treasure out of SB19. Once found, For sure they will love SB19 too and they will treasure them like GOLD, just like A’TIN do. Us A’TIN -the ANTs, will persistently help SB19 by slowly carving paths in our little own ways for our Mahalima to be known to others (the Aliens). 💙💙💙💙💙

LAST PART EXPLANATION: If you have time to check their "ALAB" music video, you would see on the last part that the same question was asked: "What is the color of your love?" But it was spoken in Korean. The first part of the MV also. Those were the times that they were shouting that they promote Filipino music, yet there were Korean words in their MV. But they can't do anything because they were still under SHOWBT, a Korean-based entertainment company that trained them. But now, this PAGTATAG ERA, they are completely SELF-MANAGED on their own 1Z Entertainment company. So, putting that on the last part of this amazing PAGTATAG song is definitely a CALL OUT on their past. For me, using aliens speaking that way mimics Korean. We like Korea, but this way, they're showing they're totally done with being accused of KPOP copycat.

Jake and Jeff should do the Gento Challenge!
  • @mahalima1819
This MV according to SB19 is a satire. They added elements into it that will make you watch it again. Moreover, they added fun things and Filipino humor in it. Because SB19 is now self-manged, they basically made sure that they will give you an MV full of passion and word plays. Thank you for reacting to this MV and for reacting to our MAHALIMA 💙💙

SB19 GENTO song is full of words and phrases that have deep meaning behind. It relate to Filipino cultures and their own experiences before they rise up to success. Overall passage "dont ever judge a book by its cover" and dont give up no matter what struggles come infront of your face, if you really have passion in what you've love doing to reach your dreams". What made them unique is they wrote their own songs with deep meaning behind, made their own choreo, unique style and fashion, own visual ideas, background bits and music. Overall they made the whole musics concepts themselves which other artist cannot do.
  • @malskie18
The reason why b19's music is different from kpop in SB19's music you will not only listen to rheir song you will also need to really think hard, dig deep to understand and unveil the hidden meaning of it.
  • @mariapril04
GENTO is an introduction to who they are now. They likened themselves to Gold (wordplay for GENTO), rare and most precious to find. In order to find gold, you dig and hard work goes into it just to find an ounce. SB19's story - the ridicule they get from fellow Filipinos, the hatred they still get up to now, and the stuff they have to go through to where they are today, managed by the company they built themselves, that's rare, that's gold. GENTO/GANITO (Like This) is a testament of their hard work, resilience, tenacity, grit, determination which are the lyrics of the song.  Filipino references are all over the MV, satirical, Filipinos always love a good laugh, that's how we survive, that's how we cope because most of us don't have enough. Most if not all of SB19 songs have inspirational message. Way to go Ashly! I welcomed you to A'TIN fandom with open arms! The boys are mostly active in twitter, see you there. You should hear PAGTATAG EP! and Have you seen I WANT YOU MV? Please a I want to hear your take on it! And Yeah we would love to see a GENTO DC! the more the merrier!
  • Someone said the aliens looking on are those alien to their music becoming aware of them. Tgey are the gold in the centre but if you look around their nugget there are others, ppop artists waiting to be discovered thus they’re leading the way with the efforts they put into their craft. The question at the end by the aliens references one of their first songs ALAB which has a similar one. It makes sense to me. You know they always give us Easter eggs and love that fans use their imagination in interpretation of the scenes in their mv but along the way during interviews they inform us about the Easter eggs. Ingenious SEXILICIOUS SB19
  • You guys better to check out their "Pagtatag EPs" consist of 6 songs which is "Ilaw, I want you, Liham, Crimzone, and Freedom", this one Gento was the first released which is hyping the Tiktok world dance challenge it has lived performance on AOS and dance performance video..this must be the start of marathon reaction guys hopefully, thanks for appreciating our PPop Kings #SB19 btw they're having a world tour.. u might like to come see them performing live.. ☺️😇
  • You should check out their MV “I want you”. It’s all in English. Gento is a wordplay on the word “ganito” which means “like this” and the word ginto which translates to gold. So basically you can’t find anything like this (gold) unless you work hard.
  • #SB19 songs be like is always metaphor expect the unexpected & world play “double meaning . And wait for their MV Behind the scene surely coming soon then you’ll understand #SB19 how they come up with the whole concept ideas and preparation!

  • @bricra8992
The last scene was a throw back to their Alab MV. At the end it asked "What color is your love" referring to each member. In this case the new color is Gold! All three of you need to check out "I want You," their latest MV. You both need to do the Gento challenge.
  • @charmie0325
