These are all of the transformations from the Live Action Sailor Moon, a.k.a Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon, or PGSM for short, in full 60fps. For those that don't know, the series was originally shot interlaced and released on DVD as so. Most videos from the series that you find online have been deinterlaced down to 30fps. I have properly deinterlaced these to full 60fps to show their full fluent motion.

Of course make sure you're watching in 720p60 mode or else the video will be in 30fps

0:00 Sailor Mercury
0:46 Sailor Mars
1:21 Sailor Jupiter
1:53 Sailor Venus
2:31 Sailor Moon
3:08 Dark Mercury
3:30 Sailor Luna
4:06 Tuxedo Mask

If you're wondering why I didn't start off with Moon, it's because her transformation is the only one that was actually shot at 30fps (aside from her speech), so I didn't think that was a good scene to start the video off with.

I have all of the original DVD footage, so if anyone wants to see more scenes in 60fps, let me know.

this is simultaneously the worst and best thing I've ever seen

Everyone: magical sequences Tuxedo mask: just getting dressed tbh

watching this to cleanse my palette after the transformation sequences from the Winx Club reboot

Yes these are extremely cheesy but to this day this series is the best live action remake of a cartoon I’ve ever seen.

These transformations are super cheesy, but I sincerely love that they tried to do their own thing - they weren't just copying the original series' choreography, and in some cases like Venus, they were tailored to fit the character's backstory within the show. They'll always hold a special place in my heart for that. That, and the fact that the character's hair actually changes when they transform. Best change.
  • One of the best things about pgsm is that you can see the special effects team gradually learn what they're doing. We start out with Usagi's noodle hair and then we get to Minako's transformation and it's gorgeous
  • The transformations may look funny now, after so many years, but the live action show was so so good! I love how they created a whole new plot for it. And by the way, Tuxedo Mask's transformation is supposed to be a joke because he doesn't have one 😉

Ok, these affects may not have aged well, but Venus' transformation is my favorite out of all of them, just the way how she looks up to the sky, and touches her hair looks so beautiful to me.
  • Sailor scouts: magically getting transformed into there outfits Tuxedo mask: just a normal man getting ready

him : shes probably cheating with other men me and the girls :

    Still a better transformation than live-action Bloom's

As a 36 year old woman who grew up on the original SM early 90s in ASIA, not America, I honestly thought when PGSM came out, it was exactly how I had imagined live action SM would look like as a child of early 90s. I love the campy, cheesy feel to it. The nostalgic Power Rangers effect. And of course, the rawness of cringe. This is exactly what my 8-year old self would've loved.

Tuxedo mask doesn't even transform, he just gets dressed.

I love how they give Sailor Venus a special transformation. As the leader of the 4 scouts she also has her own cat guardian, Artemis and she’s also known for her other alias as Sailor V. She also pretended to be Princess Serenity to hide Sailor Moon’s identity to the enemies. She is my favorite character ever since.
