  • A tip for the pesky weeds: when weeding the garden, be extra careful that you pull out the whole root of the weed and not just the stem. Sometimes you think you got the whole plant, but nope! If you leave even a little behind, it will regrow infinite more times until you finally remove every last bit. I know how annoying those suckers can be, so I hope this has helped a fellow gardener in their war against the weeds!!

So lovely to see you growing native wildflowers! Great job!
  • When I do that I mix the flowerseed with grass seed, the flowers still grow normally and the weed has no chance against the grass that is growing with the flowers

That’s such a cool idea! I’m so excited to see them grow! ❤

This will take probably a couple years for your native, desired wild flowers to outcompete the weeds. Allow everything to get a bit bigger then weed, some weeds will actually kill each other and it’s easier to find/pull the entire root! Then reseed the patches

I want to visit your yard when in full bloom! I bet it will be so relaxing, beautiful, and peaceful! Have a lil water feature, a chime, and a cushioned bench... Ahh, sweet serenity. ☺️

    Weeds are often also wildflowers

Certain "weeds" are native flora to the land too. You might want to read up on them and maybe consider not removing them from your yard along with invasive species. Just a suggestion. Otherwise, love what you're doing. Planting flowers will help pollinators a lot and in the long term create an environment for all sorts of fauna in your yard. Hummingbirds are my visitors.

some weeds may turn out being nice wildflower if you let it be
  • It’s an endless battle against grasses taking over. It takes maybe 2-3 years to get most of the grass killed so that the wildflowers take all the available room. Plus the weeds. I often wonder how wildflowers thrive on their own 😂
  • When you pull weeds lay down carboard or black plastic roll for about a month and than lay your seeds down and you will be fine also you can burn any new weeds as it kills them down to the roots.
